Chapter 1: Locked up
I had dreams about me dyeing living on Detro. I had nobody to help me and no way to survive, but spring break changed all that. See Shiko Jones sent me on a job I'll never forget. He said "Don if you shoot Lil Pawn I promise to protect you". I didn't want to shoot Lil Pawn, the boy was only 13 and he was brother to Prima and Pon Gems who where members to the biggest and badest gang on Detro st. So that afternoon Lil Pawn met with me at Detro Alley. Let's just say what was done was done. But I didn't shoot him, I promise. But the real question is who did…
The next day Pon boxed Shiko in the face thinking that he killed Lil Pawn. One thing led to another which led to a gang war. When the cops came the only ones still fighting was Shelo and Prima (Shelo is Shiko's sister). They were both taken for questioning. I felt like it was all my fault…wait was it? Well, that night my mom took me to some rich neighborhood for a ball, hosted by her boss. All I saw where teens dancing and eating finger sandwiches, as I sat and stared. "New?" a guy asked. I just looked at him puzzled. "Hi I'm Chance "the guy continued. After trying to talk to me, he forced me on the dance floor. The way I fell made us both laugh. Chance was kind of cute and sweet. I've been calling him for a while now. But then he asked me the worse question ever "Where are do you live?" I didn't know what to do so I just hung up the phone. Yes, I'm kind of embarrassed living on Detro st. so what!
About a week later Chance took me on a classy dinner which was destroyed in about 7 minutes. Shiko came in looking for me, which made me have to hide, not to sound like a ho but… What confuses me is how he found me. I mean I was in the city and the guy ain't got no gps tracker sticked on my back. Being associated with Shiko scares me at times, but I got myself in this mess…and I wish I could get out.
"Where were you yesterday?" Shiko asked. "I was places" I replied. He just scampered away madly. I don't know what his problem is but he has to fix it. Anyway Shelo snitched on me which got me sent to the Ghetto Girls program with her aka she got me sent to the woods with some suicide teen pms girls! I was there and had no idea when I was gonna leave. Did I mention we had to share a tent with a goody two shoes, a girl who cuts herself, and Prima Gems. Shelo and she was yelling out east coast west coast all day, and our supervisor don't even get me started. The grown women was singing kiddy camp fire songs! Shoot me now!
