Title: The Guest

'Your father is expecting a very special guest tonight,' she says. She combs his hair, straightens out his clothes. Kazutaka doesn't protest that he's old enough to do these things himself, considering how much she appears to enjoy it, very much in the same way she entertains herself playing 'dress-up' with those dolls of hers. 'He has to have everything perfect,' she rambles on (although it seems like she could care less).

'Yes, mother,' Kazutaka replies.

Somewhere below, a car pulls up in the driveway.

It is Muraki himself who answers the door.

'Welcome,' he greets his visitor, shakes the man's hand, 'Dr. Lecter.'

A/N: The "Muraki" here refers to the present-day Muraki's father, whose name I can't at all recall at the moment (if Matshushita Yoko named him at all). This fic (the first of what might be many more ficlets) is the result of a completely fangirl-ish notion to have Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Muraki (Kazutaka) in the same universe. (A special thanks to hikaru89 on livejournal for putting up with my constant rambling and fangirling over the idea.)
