This is sort of a poem type of story through Rikku's eyes, it's about how she reflects on the time she spent with Auron.

It's been a year since you left all of us, but I still think about you on a daily basis. The way you were so in control and calm; I admired that, I admired the fact that everyone looked up to you, including myself. Rikku swirled the stick in her hand in the sand, making hearts and circles. She looked at the shapes happily, "I still don't know exactly if what I feel for you is love, maybe it's just…I don't know." Rikku sighed, she didn't know why she was so torn up over him.

I still remember the first time you told me that I was your friend, it meant so much to hear you say those words. I used to think that maybe you had feelings for me, I wish I could've asked you before you vanished from my life. Rikku felt the urge to cry, she buried her hands in her face sadly. Thoughts wound through her head at a fast pace, stopping at one she hadn't thought of yet, "You had feelings for me didn't you? I never gave you the chance to tell me!" Rikku sobbed loudly.

"My hearts in turmoil, I don't know if it will ever heal! Why'd you leave me!" Rikku threw the stick she was holding into the distance. She got on her feet, her vision was blurring her face was hot from crying; she walked slowly towards the forest, thinking that the waterfalls would calm her quaking heart.

The Forest was calming, Rikku breathed in deep, "This air is so fresh," she looked at the falls of Besaid. "I wish you were here with me." She said reaching a hand into her pocket to hold the gift that Auron had left her. It was a pendant, he had told her to keep it safe; he had told her that it was his mothers, "Why'd you leave me this if you didn't love me?" she asked, hoping that Auron would reply somehow. She knew he wouldn't, he was gone and there was no changing that. Rikku felt a tear creeping out of the corner of her eye, "You've ruined me!" Rikku shouted into nowhere. "I used to be careless and free! Now I'm depressed all of the time thinking about you!" Rikku sobbed.

She ran blindly into the Waterfall, wishing to cleanse her soul of this pain she was feeling. The water beat down on her fragile form, soaking her with it's knowledge.

"I wish that I could be like the Waterfalls, I wish that I could flow through time until I'd have my chance to confront you again." Rikku said feeling cold from the water. Rikku held the Pendant out so that the water could fall down on it, she then realized that she had never opened the Pendant up, not even once.

She carefully opened it and felt herself become deeply touched; the Pendant had a picture of her in it, she cried realizing that he had after all of this time cared for her. She noticed that their was a tiny folded up piece of paper under the picture, it read, "I know that you probably won't see this note for a long time but, I wanted to tell you that I'm an unsent. I would've gladly told you that I had deep feelings for you but I knew that I would be leaving the land of the living soon. Rikku, the time I spent with you, I'll always treasure it. Until we meet again, hold this note close to your heart and remember that I Love you.

Rikku broke out in tears by the end of the note, "I guess I'll see you again someday, I know that you'll be waiting for me." Rikku stepped out of the Waterfall and cried softly to herself, "I love you, Auron. I'm so glad that I got the chance to know the truth about how you felt, I will love you always." Rikku kissed the Pendant and smiled, for she knew now that she would be able to go on.
