-Sparkling Nights-

A/N: THIS IS FOR MY FRIEND BUDDY-CHAN WHO IS SO AWESOME AND EPIC AND I CAN'T STOP BRAGGING ABOUT HER DAMMIT! xD Anywho, this is for HER!

ENJOY ITTTT!

The lights within the palace leak out through the thick windows that ascend high, almost to the roof. Perched there, are sculpted angels, peering down at the empty courtyard with a maze of bushes just beyond it. But it is not empty. No, I am there. The sun has just faded behind the horizon and light is disappearing fast. Minutes are left. Perhaps even seconds. Ducking behind a perfectly cut fern tree, I close my eyes.

Sensations vibrate across my skin and through my body. A little bit of discomfort lasts for about a moment. Blinking, I turn and feel the skirts around my ankles flutter to the ground. My glass heels click against the cobbled pathway as I pass by a fountain in the center of the courtyard.

Glancing down at my rippling reflection, I note my chestnut hair cascading down my back, the white dress and matching gloves with golden sequence that glistens in the low light emitting itself from the ballroom. I sigh, and twist a bit of hair around my finger.

"Go away, Touya," I tell him. The figure who I had known was behind me steps out from behind the pillars of a gazebo.

"And I should...why?" he asks me, walking around to stand before me. His brown tunic and cloak look as scruffy as ever. He grabs my arm tightly, but sparks cause him to flinch and let go. I dust off the spot he'd touched, and give him a regal look.

"We both know the rules can't be broken, and since I won't change my mind, stop asking," I inform him once again. He scowls at me, looking furious as usual. With a flick of his cape, he transforms into crow before flying away showering feather on me. I reach up and try to brush them out of my hair. I sigh, and my arms fall to my sides.

Making my way over to the window, I place my hand against the smooth surface. If only I could attend this ball…

"You there!" someone calls, and I jump, almost stumbling. Looking up I see a man with a long scroll pointing at me. "Hurry and get over here!"

I want to back up, but my feet won't budge. He heads towards me, and pushes me towards the doors. "I don't want to be late introducing any guest."

My mouth parts in surprise. This can't be happening. I can't go in there. If I do-!

"Entering the 157th annual ball of the Harmonia is…!" he says grandly before looking at me and whispering, "what is your name, m'lady?"

"It's…" I swallow. "White."

A/N: This is SUPER short. I know. But I haz plans, and I am super tired since it is late. SO. This is all you guys get. BUT, I will attempt to write more since I kinda have a plot? Sorta? maybe…? Not really… o.o WHATEVERRR.

(Anyone catch the Phantom of the Opera thingy? Just thought it was funny.)
