AN: I don't usually write FanFictions, but the other day I was inspired. One of my favorite writing websites, The Write practice, had a prompt on one of their articles to "write about a grammar prescriptivist having a crisis of faith as he or she reads today's writing," so of course Jacksfilms came to mind. This is just a piece of silly writing based on the question of what would happen if the horrible comments finally drove them to the breaking point. Hope you enjoy, and if you see any grammatical errors, or illogical sentences, please let me know. Thanks! ^^
Jack screamed and flung his hands up, pushing away from his computer. He really should learn to stop reading the comment sections. He swore they were doing it on purpose now, spelling words wrong and throwing grammar off the top of a skyscraper, and for what purpose?! All to get on his damned videos! He was actually adding to the problem, not reducing it! The small, still logical part of his brain insisted on pointing out that their blatant disregard indicated that they knew the proper spellings- but Jack was too enraged to care.
By this point, Jack was up, pacing back and forth in his kitchen, and muttering under his breath. Exuding the aura of a person finally gone insane, he'd pause to glare at his computer, before continuing to pace. His hands clenched into balls of concentrated balls of fury, then loosened again.
Jack's pacing was the sight his girlfriend saw when she walked through the door- a concerning sight indeed. She cautiously approached the pacing nerd. Jack wasn't exactly known for having a bad temper, so she was rather unsure how to react to this. As her hand touched his arm, he started and blinked at her, slowly coming out of his grammar-nazi induced trance.
"What's wrong?" Erin asked.
Jack grimaced, and took a breath. "I'm just so damn sick of all these stupid comments with their horrendous grammar! I mean, it's like they're trying to make me hate YouTube, and you know what?! It's actually working! I mean, there are even more bad comments now, and it's all my fault because they're trying to get onto YGS! Maybe it would be better if they were actually funny, but half the time it's just the same damn stupid comments, and I'm sick of it! I'm sick of people misspelling 'rapping' and I'm sick of the horrific combinations of numbers and letters that people try to pass off as words!" Jack was actually shouting at the top of his lungs by the end of his rant, even more riled up now.
"Okay, maybe you should sit down, take a break from the computer. You need to distract yourself-" His girlfriend began, trying to think of something that would calm him down.
"NO, you know what?! I'm done! I'm done with these stupid videos! I never even meant for it to become a continual thing, and obviously I'm just making people's English worse, so- I'm done!" Erin stared after him as he ran to set up his recording equipment.
The resulting video was short, harsh, and offered no explanation. He didn't bother with editing- he didn't need to. After all, it was hardly more than a few sentences long.
"Are you sure you want to do this" Erin asked, as Jack titled his video.
Jack, glared at the screen. "Yes." The conviction in his voice said it all.
Then, the button was pressed and the video uploaded. "No more Your Grammar Sucks." The fans began clamoring in the comment section. All of them were startled, many of them stunned. Jack ignored it and turned off his computer. He no longer cared what they said, he wasn't taking anybody else's opinions.
