i've been waitin' for you
it's been so long
what am I going to do?
i let myself go
-Go, Delilah

Brilliance is just one word to describe him.

;;;

There are too many words one would use to try and even put a label on Cameron Leon. He is frankly just fascinated with the world and the knowledge that there is just waiting to be found. He likes to hone new skills and use them whenever he can manage; he likes to get lost in his world of ingenious thoughts and dreams.

A scholar, painter, musician, writer, philosopher, magician, intellectual, detective; Cameron Leon is no ordinary human.

;;;

He remembers everything.

From every face, to every blade of grass, to every letter in all the books he's read, to every lecture his professors have given him, to all the ways one can use various Magical herbs and fungi to kill someone, to spells that no wizard half his age should know. He remembers everything and some would call it luck that he has a photographic memory.

But Cameron? He knows that he was struck with his memory for a reason and weather that reason is more theological than scientifically he admits he doesn't know that but he intends to find out.

;;;

Feelings don't come so easy when all he does is strive to learn and satisfy the irresistible call to know things, to be the best, to be more than any man is, to become something more than mortal. To become like the Greeks believed a God.

He's never been that affectionate anyways.

;;;

Though he's not as cold as people image.

After all there is her.

He's never liked red hair, for some reason it's always been a sort of turn off to him and he suspects it's because there are so many redheaded Weasley's running around that it makes the color less special. But Finnigan came along and sure, she's what the world would call stupid or rather lacked common sense but she's also real and for once he finally acquired a real friend and not just another one of his favorite characters in the books he's read or stories he's written. That mattered because although Kara couldn't match his mind, she's a spark, a flame that burns and burns and burns.

Kara Finnigan is real.

ii

But there's also her.

She's not like all the other see, because her ideas are but mere fairy tales and she believes in Nargels and Princesses and true love and faith, trust and pixie dust. The kind of stuff he only read about in Peter Pan, the kind of stuff that he thought sounded silly. How could someone never grow old? Even with the help of magic it could only last so long. Except Belby thought so differently, she's all about love at first sight and all those silly stories and sometimes he finds himself wishing that he could actually be more like her. Because sometimes she's just what he and the rest of the world needs, a bright ray of sunshine in the darkest of places.

Wendy Belby is refresihing.

;;;

Sometimes he thinks that maybe if he could be more like her or her love would be in the cards for him.

(that thought only crosses his mind once)

;;;

Sometimes it's easy to be Cameron.

Because there's no one else like him and he's the most brilliant person he knows and there's no one else to match him in anything he does. Cameron Leon is the most brilliant mind anyone has ever seen. And on top of it all, his greatest strength is that he doesn't feel.

Except when it comes to her. Because she doesn't accept his brilliance as brilliance, she looks at him differently than everyone else and as much as he hates to admit it...

He kind of likes that about her.

(maybe love is in his cards after all)
