Introduction

As the students boarded the train, Lily watched from the platform, tears escaping as her brothers boarded the train without her. It wouldn't be the last time, as she had two more years before she, too, could go to Hogwarts. Before Albus could leave her she wrapped her arms around his middle. "You'll write and tell me all about it, right?"

Albus hugged her back with a bright laugh. "I'll even send you copies of my homework if you want, so you can get ready for what's coming."

"Really? You really will? Please!" The nine year old girl buried her face in her brother's chest. "Promise?"

"Promise, I'll send you a letter whenever I can and tell you all about my teachers and homework and what books I read so you can keep up and be the smartest girl in your class when it's your turn."

Nodding, Lily let go of him. "I'll hold you to that."

Albus laughed and nodded, boarding the train after a goodbye kiss from his mother and a hug from his father. Lily watched quietly as he disappeared among the hoard of other students. A hand landed on her shoulder and she looked up, wiping at her tears. A boy about the same age as her brother stood there.

"Why would you want to go to school so bad?" He asked her quietly, honestly curious.

"Because I'm going to be all alone at home this year and I'd rather have mean teachers and lots of assignments than be alone." Lily said with a brief nod, as if accentuating her words.

"If you want, I can write to you so you won't feel so alone."

"You don't even know me."

He laughed, shaking his blonde hair loose from its pulled back way. "I have a sister that's your age. I'm going to be writing to her all school year. I can write you a letter too."

Lily nodded with a smile. "Alright. I'm Lily Potter, who're you?"

"Scorpius. Now I have to go on the train, but I'll send you a letter, Lily. Promise."

Lily wiggled her nose and held her pinky out to him. "Pinky promise. It's like the Unbreakable Vow, but you don't get in trouble if daddy catches you making it." Scorpius nodded and pinky promised her before climbing on the train.

As the Hogwarts Express pulled out, Lily felt her mother's hand on her shoulder. "Lily, do you know that boy?"

"That's Scorpius. He has a sister my age and he wanted to say hi."

"Well that was very nice of him." With a worried glance towards the train, Ginny lead her daughter towards the rest of their family, wondering: Why in the world is Draco's son so interested in my daughter?
