Anna was exhausted. For a whole entire week, she had gone Ice Harvesting with Kristoff. Although the princess had been enjoying herself, the work wasn't always easy. Kristoff had warned her about the weight of the ice blocks, but even he wasn't aware of her own strength. Anna didn't know she could lift something so heavy.
She was sitting on the couch, helplessly trying to eat the oatmeal Gerda had made her. The princess had certainly outdone herself. "I just want Elsa," she sighed.
On cue, the library doors opened. Elsa waltzed in, giving Anna a warm smile before fixing the logs in the fireplace. Then she plopped down on the couch and tended to her younger sister, who looked miserable. "So how's the ice business?"
Anna shrugged. "It's alright."
"And how is my poor little sister doing?" Elsa asked.
"Not alright. Terrible. Worse than terrible. If that's a thing. Horrible. Absolutely terrible."
"You already said terrible."
Anna groaned. "I feel like a blob of jelly. My arms and legs are aching."
"That's why today is a good day for a break," Elsa replied. "You deserve it."
"I know. I can't even…" Anna tried taking a bite of oatmeal, but failed again when a searing pain in her arms prevented her from doing so. "I can't even eat my oatmeal," she whimpered.
"Oh, love I am so sorry," Elsa soothed, carefully taking the spoon and bowl away from Anna. "But you know what? I am here for you." She spoon fed her sister, who finally smiled for the first time in a while.
"Mm, yummy."
Elsa chuckled. "Better?"
"Much better," Anna replied. "Thank you, Elsa."
"You're welcome."
Elsa finished feeding Anna the oatmeal and held out her hands. Anna raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing to me now?"
"C'mon, let's go for a walk. It'll help."
With that, Elsa gently pulled her sister up but in result Anna's muscles spazzed. "Owowowowow, Elsa!" She gasped, shrinking away from her sister.
"I'm sorry, Anna!" Elsa wrapped her arms around the princess's shoulders. "Is this better?"
"It's fine but, a walk?" Anna groaned, as she struggled to do so. "Elsa, I can hardly eat. I'll fall."
"I won't let you fall," Elsa promised. "You need to stretch out."
Anna sighed in defeat. "Okay. But don't you have work to do?"
Elsa smiled. "Everyone needs a break, Anna. Even me."
Hand in hand, the sisters strolled through the royal gardens. It was certainly a beautiful day for a walk. Anna was smiling, taking in the beauty of the afternoon. "You know, I'm actually relieved to take a break. Also, this walk was a good idea. Sitting in one spot all day is exhausting."
"Welcome to my world," Elsa agreed. "I sit in my study all day long."
"Unless I get you off your chair and instead of signing papers you're chasing me around the castle screaming in Odin's name because I pranked you," Anna giggled. "Which is one way to get you to take a break. Literally. You threw a snowball at me once and completely missed. It hit the window. Remember? That was..hilarious."
Elsa laughed. "Oh, Anna I love you. I really hope you're feeling better, I missed my silly sunshine."
"I'm feeling wonderful. Amazing. Amazinger than amazing. Thanks to you. You're amazing."
"You already said amazing."
The two girls only laughed and joy was bursting from Anna's heart. She was so grateful to have Elsa.
