Hi friends. So, this is my first Avatar story in forever. This was just going to be a one shot. But, than I decided "nope" haha. But, I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Please remember to R&R and I hope you all enjoy. Blessings, Butterfly582

Iroh sat on his porch looking over the street of Ba-sin-say that he lived on. He quietly sipped his tea. And sighed, looking down at the two bowls in-front of him. One had, had its contacts eaten, the other was still sitting full of now almost cold rice. Iroh sighed, before collecting the breakfast dishes and heading inside. After Iroh had cleaned up breakfast. He made his way upstairs and to a bamboo sliding door that led to his guest room. Iroh knocked on the door softly. But, got no response. So, he allowed himself in.

In there Iroh found his nephew Zuko curled up in a ball in the middle of the bed. The blankets and other sheets balled up on the floor. Iroh walked in and over to Zuko who's back was to him. Trying not to spook him.

"Zuko, are you awake?" Iroh asked.

All Iroh got in return was a slight head nod.

"I had made you breakfast. Why didn't you come and join me? You have not eaten much since you came to visit." Iroh replied.

"Not hungry" Zuko replied.

Iroh sat next to Zuko. And gently placed his hand on his nephews shoulder.

"Prince Zuko, I know you are upset about everything that has happened the past few weeks. But, there is nothing we can do to change what has happened. Unfortunately, it is just one of those situations where we have no choice. But, to be sad for a time and than move on." Iroh replied.

"I don't want to move on. I thought she loved me." Zuko replied.

"Zuko, I believe deep down your mother still does love you." Iroh replied.

"I thought she'd be proud of me now that I'm Fire lord." Zuko said.

"It's hard to say, I'm sure she is, but you can't beet yourself up with the "what if" game. Iroh replied.

"I thought she'd want to be apart of my life again. Now that my father is gone." Zuko replied.

Iroh sighed, "Zuko, I know how much you missed you mother. And how badly you wanted her back. And I'm very sorry things did not go as you had hoped. But, you have to remember it has been a long time since your grandfather banished her. She probably just wants to move on and forget about the past. I'm not saying it is okay to leave you in the dust. But, like I said earlier. I believe she still loves you. But, it was her choice. And there is nothing we can do to change it." Iroh replied.

Zuko just curled up into a tighter ball and gently shook his Uncle's hand off of him. Iroh finally sighed and stood up.

"Zuko, I know this won't be easy to move on from. But, you have to understand that to help let the pain go. You are going to have to let your mother go. I'm sorry, I know that sounds harsh. But, it is the only way to move on." Iroh replied.

"I don't want to move on without her. I've already had to do that for so many years. I just wish she would love me. I guess no one truly loves me." Zuko replied.

Iroh sighed, before planting a soft kiss Zuko's cheek. Before heading for the door. Iroh looked back at his nephew. Before quietly leaving the room. Iroh walked down the hall with a heavy heart. Wishing he could get Zuko to see how loved he truly was.

Well, what did you think? Yes, this will mostly be a Zuko and Iroh story. They are my favorite characters in the show. And I love stories about their father/son relationship. If you enjoyed this please leave a comment letting me know if it was good or bad. And I will try to post chapter two soon. Until next time my friends, Blessings, Butterfly582
