They mocked me my entire life, the weak Prince of Troy. The younger brother; the beautiful boy, whose only gift was his beauty. The gift to Troy.
As my older sister Cassandra once called me, the Curse.
And I am; I have always known it. The gods are cruel, capricious beings; we are their toys, their playthings.
I am beautiful; men and women, both, longed to bed me, to claim the title of the one who conquered Paris.
And if I had known it would come this, I'd have thrown myself into the sea long ago.

"Prince?"
The title is said deridingly, but Paris long ago grew hard to taunts. Gently he folds the paper; it is written in Trojan, but with his luck this Greek can read it.
"Yes, my lord?" He was raised a prince. He'd be damned if he lost his composure now.
The Greek leader—son of a goddess, the greatest warrior to ever live— grabs Paris' arm and hauls him to his feet. "Come, my prince," he whispers in Paris' ear. "We wait for you."
Paris resolves to survive; after he led to the fall of Troy, his life is all he has left. I am Paris, Prince of Troy, all that remains of my people. I will live. Achilles' eyes burn at him. I will.
