Hello! As the description says, this is for the first anniversary of the international release of Xenoblade Chronicles X. This is an amazing game and I hope everyone else had as much fun playing it as I did!
Mavis is my own cross and I do not own Xenoblade X. Enjoy!
It was another busy day in NLA, but wasn't that typical? Humanity had made it so far in just one year… It was an amazing feat, being able to bounce back from all the events that occurred and being able to live successfully on this new planet which they named Mira… Humanity was definitely something.
Mavis stood at the top of the Industrial District, next to the elevator. From there she could see everything, the moving cars, working Skells, the peaceful aura that seemed to fill the air… She had always hoped that humans and xenos could live together harmoniously. To her, it was an amazing sight. But that wasn't why she had come up here. Today was a special day. Today marked the one year anniversary of her awakening on Mira. She could still remember it clearly, as if it was just yesterday that she took her first steps in this strange new planet, as if it was just yesterday that she found out she had no memory. It was strange, most of her friends also had no memory from before the crash of the White Whale… She shrugged it off. She wasn't going to let today be clouded by all this mystery. Today was a good day. At least, that's what she kept telling herself.
Her thoughts drifted to when she first woke up on Mira...
It was dark, till someone whom she did not know entered a pass code from the outside. The life pod sprung to life, and a female voice filled her ears. It counted down, and the door to the pod opened swiftly. She couldn't make out the person standing in front of her. The contrast between the flashlight they were holding and the darkness of the sky outside made it near impossible for her to see anything. She took one step out of the pod she had stayed in for god knows how long, and fell. It was that moment where she took in her surroundings. It was raining hard, but she enjoyed the cold water as it fell upon her. Standing up, her mind was filled with the same darkness she saw in the sky.
She listened to what the person had to say. Their voice was comforting her as they asked her questions. Can you remember anything? No. Do you know who you are? No. Do you know how to handle a weapon? To her surprise, she faintly remembered getting training for a gun.
"Do you know your name?" The person's voice became worried, but as they asked their final question, the girl's face lit up and she gave an optimistic smile.
"My name… My name's Mavis!"
Thinking back to that moment, a smile crept up on her face.
