Inspired by the Norse Myths, the movie Thor and the wonderful book Loki, by Mike Vasich. If you're interested in Loki from the Myths at ALL, you should read this book.
Very first fanfiction though, so bear with me…
Loki walked down the winding path away from Asgard, fuming. He was headed for Bifrost. He was done. And not just by his choice either. He had just been recently banished from ever stepping foot in the realm of the Gods again and for what? For the recently revealed truth of his parentage. Of why he was so different from the rest of the Aesir. Being a Giant. For having Giant blood run in his veins. That was all. He hadn't even known until Odin had decided that night to reveal that he had taken Loki from a Giant village while he was an infant and brought him to Asgard, to raise him as his own. Loki still didn't even know why the Allfather had taken him, to raise him and make him think that he had a home, just to turn him away. He had tried his hardest to help the Aesir, using everything he had, but it still wasn't enough. He was just too different. When Odin had announced the truth and banished Loki, no one said a word against it. Only Thor had seemed saddened by the news.
But he no longer needed the gods. He was headed to his homeland, Jotunheim, land of the Frost Giants. There he would stay until the end of both Gods and Mortals, Ragnarok. There he would be surrounded by his brethren, who would eventually rise up against the cruelty and oppression of the gods and finally take their revenge for the eons of death and destruction the gods had brought upon them. And he, Loki, would lead them. He would start Ragnarok, the Twilight of the Gods. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew, he had always known, that he would do this. It had pained him greatly until now. Now, he would take joy in the destruction of Odin and all that he held dear. If the Allfather even did hold anything dear. Who knew now? He had thought that Odin had held him dear, but look where that had gone. He still felt regret and pain at the thought of Thor's death though, who had loved him as the brother he had thought they were. And Loki for the most part still loved him the same. Maybe Thor could be spared…
As he passed through the Gates of Asgard, Heimdall yelled to him "We will meet again Loki Laufeyson, on the field of battle, and there you shall pay for all your tricks and lies! I shall see to it personally!"
Loki seemed to ignore him and continued walking, his emerald cape flapping in the wind behind him.
But he sent Heimdall a telepathic message. "The final fight I'll win" and Heimdall's blood suddenly ran cold, knowing that Loki was right.
Hope you enjoyed! Review please to help me improve, 'cause I know I need to!
