"Vash?!" I cried, watching him collapse to the ground. I rushed to his aid, fearing the worst. I had expected his time to come...but not now. Tears began to form in my eyes. Was this truly the end of Vash the Stampede? The man I had looked up to for so long? My best friend? He grasped my hand and smiled weakly.

"...I'm...sorry..." he whispered hoarsly. The look in his eyes...it made me cry harder than I already had been.

"You can make it! You'll be okay!" I reassured him. He let out a soft chuckle. No. I wasn't going to let him slip away...not yet. He pulled me close and planted a light kiss on my forehead.

"You're going to have to go on without me," he said sternly.

"No! You can make it!!!"

"...Goodbye..."

The light just faded from his eyes, and the grip on my hand had loosened.

"...Don't..." he choked, "for...get...me..."

"Vash," I whispered. His eyes closed slowly his lips curled into a relaxed smile.

"I'll always be with yo--"

"Vash? VASH!!!! No!!" I screamed. He was dead. I buried my face in his chest and began to weep. I was alone and scared...what would I do now?

Yes I know...that was sad.
