Manfred von Karma was dead to begin with. As dead as a door nail. In life, he was a cruel prosecutor who had a daughter named Franziska who was like him, and loved money. She walked into her office seeing two of her workers. A man named Hal "Otacon" Emmerich and a 10-year-old boy named Ash Ketchum. "Mr. Emmerich!" called Franziska. Hal looked at von Karma in fear. "Y-yes Miss von Karma?" he said, quivering in fear.

"I want those case files ready and organized for tommorrow." she said. Hal's eyes widened. "But Miss von Karma... tommorroe is Christmas..." he said.

"Very well, you may gift wrap them for me."

Who should arrive at the door, but Franziska's dear "little" brother, Miles Edgeworth. "Hello Franziska, merry Christmas!" he said. Franziska looked up at the man in red wearing a cavat. "Merry Christmas...Bah humbug!" she said. Miles laughed. "Christmas a humbug, Franny? Why you must be surely mistaken!" he said.

"I don't make mistakes, Edgeworth..."

"Oh come now, Franziska. You must be loving Christmas a little bit."

"No. Christmas is a time for buisness!"

"Christmas, is a loving, caring, holiday. I don't care about how bad you say Christmas is, I say God bless it!"

Hal and Ash smiled at Edgeworth's speech and applauded it. Franziska looked at the two and they started working again. "Don't you have somewhere to be, brother?" she asked, hesitating. "Sadly I do, Fran. Oh! Come to me and Mr. Phoenix Wright's Christmas party!" Miles said.

"...Why ever did you become friends with that defense attorney?"

"Why? Because we've been friends since grade-school!"

Franziska laughed. "Merry Christmas, Mr. Emmerich and to you too, Ash." Miles said to Hal and Ash. "Merry Christmas, Mr. Edgeworth!" Ash said. Later that night, Ash came into Franziska's office. "Miss von Karma, almost closing time." he said. Franziska looked at Ash. "Ok. I expect you and Mr. Emmerich to be here tommorrow." she said.

"But tommorrow's Christmas..."

"Fine... Come here at 10:30 a.m."

"Miss von Karma, most places will be closed and no one will be able to have their case tommorrow..."

"..."

"I see Miss...Sorry for asking..."

"...Alright... you may take the day off. Merry Christmas."

Ash and Hal walked out of the office after Franziska left and locked up the door.
