"Riku…"

"No, Cloud. I can't deal with this again. I have to stop it. I have to stop him."

Cloud knew his mind was set, and he watched helplessly as Riku opened a dark portal. As he started to walk in, Cloud mindlessly ran forward and grabbed his arm. He stopped. "Riku." Cloud wanted to say more, he wanted to do something, but he knew that Riku had to settle the internal war between him and Ansem. But he knew one thing…

"You're not alone."

Riku slowly turned to face him, and Cloud saw the tears threatening to run down his cheeks. Cloud, himself, almost broke after seeing him in such a state. Cloud hugged the boy and Riku started to sob with no restraints. Riku rarely cried, and it hurt his heart that he couldn't fix the problem.

After Riku began to calm down, Cloud wiped the remaining tears from his face. "I wish I could strangle Ansem right now for making you go through all of this."

Riku barked a single laugh and shook his head, "I'm sorry I just broke down like that. It's not me at all. I don't even know where all this emotional crap came from."

Cloud chuckled and rubbed Riku's shoulder. "Well, sometimes we have to let it all out. You've been holding it in for too long."

"So when are you going to let it all out?"

Cloud frowned at him and looked down to the floor. The last time he'd cried was when Zack had died. Now there were no tears left…

"I need to go. I have to go to Disney Castle to see if Mickey knows how to get rid of Ansem."

"Okay," Cloud muttered still thinking about the previous subject.

Riku started to step through the portal before looking back at Cloud, "I'll be back. I promise."

When Cloud looked up to say goodbye, the boy was gone. He had become unusually attached to Riku these past couple of months. He was really the only person that could relate to Cloud.

Before he knew it, a tear tolled down his cheek.

He was going to miss that kid.
