a/n Evil little plot bunny that wouldn't leave me alone, inspired by Daniel Bedingfield's Wrap My Words Around You (if that wasn't like really obvious by the title of this drabble *shrugs*) Un-beta'd so all mistakes are my own and sadly i don't own the characters they belong to Neil Gaiman and Alex Hirsch. Reviews and favourites make my day/week/month/year/life so feel free to do either of those.

"I can't stay with you Coraline! Not anymore, not with the person you've become. I just can't." Mabel cried as she backed towards the door. Objects began to float as Coraline lost control of the power she had before so carefully wielded.

"Please don't leave me Mabel." She sobbed.

"I have to." Mabel whispered, tears flowing freely down her face as she grasped for the doorknob blindly. "I won't stay here and watch you be consumed by this darkness. You should have let me help you long ago." Coraline's temper snapped and her eyes darkened as she embraced the darkness within her.

"I WON'T LET YOU LEAVE ME." She screamed. "I WON'T LET YOU. YOU ARE MINE!" She began chanting words in language Mabel had never heard before. The harsh discordant sound of it raised the hairs on the back of Mabel's neck, flinging the door open, she turned and ran from the woman she loved. Coraline barely noticed, concentrating only on channeling all of her power into this one spell. She could see the tendrils of power, shaped by the words being whispered to her, chase after Mabel, wrap around her very soul and bind it to hers. Dimly, in the back of her mind Coraline knew that Mabel would hate her for this, but the thought was drowned out by voices whispering to her that Mabel would be hers, forever. Slumping as she finished the spell, she reached for Mabel with her mind, too exhausted to physically call her back. Familiar arms wrapped around her and helped her to her feet, leading her to the bed that they shared. "You won't leave me?" Coraline whispered feebly.

"Never." Mabel replied, her voice oddly flat to Coraline's ears. Putting it down to her exhaustion she let Mabel lay her down on the bed, wishing she'd curl up next to her like she always did. No sooner had Coraline finished that thought, Mabel had done it. Snuggling into Mabel, she felt Mabel's arms go around her, the touch feeling wooden, a poor facsimile of the loving embrace she knew. Turning in Mabel's arms, Coraline looked into her lover's eyes, fighting the urge to sink into unconsciousness as she searched the familiar brown depths for a trace of the Mabel she loved. Tears welled in her own eyes when she found none. 'What have i done?' She wailed in her head 'This isn't what i wanted' she cried to the voices, that had fallen suspiciously silent. 'BRING HER BACK!' She screamed at them. She was still screaming in her head when unconsciousness claimed her, her tears staining Mabel's favourite sweater.
