Okay, first fic. I hope it's not to bad... ^^;;

With you

On Christmas Eve, a girl walking home from a party sees a lone boy on the street. The girl, Amu, is a very fortunate girl. Her whole family will be waiting at home to celebrate Christmas, but she always finds time to help others. She walked up to the boy.

"Hello! Merry Christmas!", she said cheerfully.
"I hate it...", The boy said softly.
"Hate what?"
"I hate Christmas!"
"Why?"
"Because... I'm always..."
The boy sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Alone..."
Amu, sat next to the boy and looked at the falling snow. "Don't you have any family?"
"No."
"Oh..."

They sat next to each other for a few minutes. The snow was gathering on Amu's coat. She looked at the boy and saw him shivering. She scooted closer to the boy and pulled her knees close to her chest.

"Look", the boy said with no emotion, "if you're cold, then go home. No one asked to you to be here. I'm sure you have family waiting."
Amu giggled, and the boy looked over in surprise. "I'm fine out here. You're the one who looks cold. And I know no one asked me to be here, but... You look lonely..."

The boy looked at Amu with a slight smile on his face. "Edward"
"Nice to meet you! I'm Amu!"
"Same here, Amu."

They sat a little longer. Amu started to wonder if her family was worried. She looked over at Edward.
He looked... Peaceful...

"May I ask what happened to your family?"

Edward winced at the question, but soon relaxed. He then started to rub his hands together to keep them warm.

"My mom died when I was six. Then my brother and I were sent to an orphanage. He was adopted without me. Then the orphanage went bankrupt. Now, I just live on the streets. But it's not that bad. You get to meet a lot of people. Like... you..." Edward smiled at Amu. "Now I can still have hope..."

"Spend Christmas with me."

Edward looked over at Amu in shock. He was at a loss for words. Amu just stood and offered to take his hand.

"Spend it with me... because... no one... should be alone..."

Edward took her hand. She lead him home, to his new home.
