This is a birthdaygiftfic for Reborn-Fire-Bird. As such it is dedicated to her, but I hope the rest of you read it as well.

Synchronicity
"Hey, does anyone want to go the store with me?" Athena yelled to the teens, not expecting a positive response. Heroes, these kids may be, but confront them with domestic chores, and they're little short of pathetic. Athena thought. She still remembered the time Odie had tried to cook ambrosia, and the resulting dish had attempted to eat him. Athena shuddered at the memory.
So she was very surprised when Atlanta and Archie both looked and said, in perfect harmony, "Sure, why not?"

Two minutes into the car journey, Athena was already regretting opening her mouth before leaving the store. Archie and Atlanta were driving her crazy, trying to see who could come up with the best possible shopping list, the best sandwich, the best strategy for defeating Cronus. And they kept talking simultaneously, that was getting annoying. Stupidity in stereo was never fun.
What Athena didn't understand was why they hadn't gotten together already. Athena was one of the Vestal Virgins, like Artemis and Hestia, but even she could see how obviously in love the two were. Perhaps I should attempt to help them get together. Athena thought No, definitely not. Not only is this 'dear' Aphrodite's area of expertise, this is the kind of thing that starts wars. Just look what happened to Helen. She took her head, as if to dispel the memory.
By the time they had reached the store, Athena was seriously considering killing the two teenagers, prophecy be damned. Why couldn't heroes show respect anymore? Like Odysseus, he had been a real gentleman, and Jason, he had always paid honor to the Gods.
Both Teenagers yelled "I'll get the milk" and tore off to the refrigerated section of the store.
"No running Indoors!" She yelled after them, though she knew it was futile. She heard two identical crashes, as the teens careered into a pair of Cereal box stacks.

By the time Athena had got home, she was exhausted. The two kids had managed to systematically demolish every section of the store, load up the shopping with all sorts o unnecessary items, and get covered in at least three different kinds of food. She went through the bags to find that none of the things she had bought were what she needed for dinner that night, so she would have to go out shopping again that day. She groaned at the thought. Never again will I go shopping with one of these heroes again.
She caught sight of Archie and Atlanta playing a video game, matching each others movements on the game perfectly. There they go, Athena thought, as they both yelled out at the same time always doing the same thing, always saying the same thing.

The next time she went shopping with two of the heroes, it was Theresa and Atlanta, preparing Atlanta for the day when she'd be saying the same thing as Archie.
The day they would both be saying "I do."
