It was a sunny morning at the Viridian City Gym. The Gym Leader, Blue, was standing outside the Gym drinking some hot coffee. When he accepted this job he never thought of how hard it could be. Don't get him wrong he loved his job, not only defeating amateur trainers but he was able to point out their weakness molding them into better trainers. As Blue finished his cup of coffee, he noticed a familiar figure walking up towards him. The figure was a boy with dark blue hair, wearing a black and yellow hat backwards so a tuff of his hair could stick out, a red and black jacket, black pants and red and white sneakers. He remembered this boy it was the same boy he met on Cinnabar Island. A small smile appeared on his face as he remembered that meeting.
Blue was watching the waves roll on the beach at Cinnabar Island. It was nice to have some peace and quiet once in a while. He sat down on the towel on the sand he had brought. "Ahhhh…"Blue sighed as he listened to the calming waves. "Excuse me sir." a voice called from behind him. Blue turned to see the same boy he described earlier standing behind him,"Are you Blue?" Blue rolled his eyes there were many of times before a trainer has wanted to battle him just because he was the Viridian City Gym leader. "Sorry unless you have 7 Kanto Badges, you are too weak to battle me so run along." Blue said as he put on his sunglasses and laid back on the towel. There was a moment of silence and Blue assumed the boy had given up till he felt a case hit his chest. Blue sat up and pulled his glasses on the top of his head. The case had a clear top which showed 7 Kanto Gym Badges and 8 Johto Gym Badges. Blue was actually a bit impressed the boy didn't look much older than fifthteen the same age Blue and Red were when they had begun their Pokémon journey. The boy looked at Blue with a playful smirk which granted him a smile from Blue."Touche. But you'll have to wait till I return to the gym it won't be official otherwise." Blue said as he hand back the boy's badge case. "Oh okay. My name is Gold by the way. It's an honor to meet you. I heard many great things about you from Professor Oak." Blue blinked and said,"Sit with me and tell me how Gramps is." Blue said as he set out another towel for Gold to sit on. Gold sat down the the two talked for what seemed for hours.
As Gold walked up the steps of the gym towards Blue, Blue smiled,"Hey Gold. I'm guessing you're ready for ya Gym battle?" Gold nodded with determination in his face which Blue admired. Blue wrapped an arm around Gold's shoulder and the two walked inside not knowing of the figure watching at them from afar.
Inside the Viridian Gym Blue stood on the right and Gold stood on the left of the battle arena. "Now since you have 15 Gym Badges I assume you know how Gym Battles go so no need to repeat the rules." Blue said tossing a pokeball in his hand to let go his Rhyhorn. Gold smiled and threw his own pokeball letting out his Typhlosion. "Let's get this last Gym Badge boy." Gold said to his Typhlosion which nodded in return. Blue smirked before ordering Rhyhorn to attack,"Rhyhorn use Mega Horn!" "Dodge it Typhlosion!" Gold commanded as his Typhlosion jumped out of the way of the Rhyhorn's attack. Blue smiled as the battle continued, the two seemed very evenly matched and neither have lost a Pokémon. Blue was about to command another attack when a snapping noise brought his attention to the large ceiling light that had broken above Gold and began falling towards him,"Lookout!" Gold looked up and saw the ceiling light fall towards him he tried to run but it was too late and landed on him. Blue quickly ran over to Gold and lifted the ceiling light off of him,"Go call an ambulance!" Blue told the referee who did as he was told.
