Chapter One

Introduction

IT happened one day while I was still very little and still too young to understand the workings of the world. My mother had nursed infant animals back to health, but I must say that out of all of them my favorite was Mori, a black wolf. When it was time to release Mori I cried heavily but like out of thin air she spoke and told me she would return to take me away to where she was going when the time was right.

"Yeah sure mom," I said leaving the car, " I won't forget."

It was my day to cook lunch and I needed a ride to the store. I came home and unpacked my stuff. Joy jumped onto my bed and cuddled for a seat near me. He purred with delight. Just then he jumped under my bed as if he heard something. And he was right. Just then the door broke down and in stepped a beautiful black wolf with two tails.

"Mori!", "Is that you?"

" Sure is kiddo," she answered " How you've grown."

" I suppose that you're here to take me now?"

" You must leave Ksenia, people must not know your true form."

She grabbed me by my shirt and jumped out the window. I heard Joy meow a mournful meow as we left the street. We ran all night long until we reached the lake. When we got there it was all silent. Now I had a thirst for blood...... human blood.

Just then Mori fell to the ground.

"MORI?!?" I cried.

" Im okay its just that im very tired" she said in a weak voice.

I asked her if my mother would be worried that I was gone.

" No, San knows it was your time to leave and to come back to the past." she said " I will tell you a story of your early family and how your mother was born and raised.
