Hey guys! I hope you enjoy the first chapter. I wanted to write a new story before I graduate from high school, and what better story to do than a Disney one? Be sure to review! Thank you!
The majestic morning sun laid on the town with ease. As much as the others wanted to call it all a city, the vote agreed that it was just the opposite. Of course, that vote was almost nine years ago, and so much had changed since then. More movies meant new residents in the area, which meant more homes and buildings to be created. This also meant the town was divided off, but the people, animals and such had never been closer. The world they lived in had been pure, even with the villains just miles away, in their own little town. Little was an understatement- but nonetheless, their lives remained peaceful and Disney had been the perfect home.
In the beautiful castle on the edge of the town, the most peaceful room was that of a well-known queen. Everyone else picked up the hustle, hoping to get the ceremony set up before noon, while Elsa snored loudly as she possibly could. In her defense, she had been working on the set up for over three months now with Mickeyf. She panicked left and right in the hopes of the perfect day. Now, she needed a little bit of rest. Until the thunderous knocking came about on her door.
"Ah!" Elsa nearly fell out of the bed, snatching her away from her dreams, only to realize where she was," What's going on?"
"Elsa! Open up!" Vanelope shouted and knocked repeatedly on the other side," Today's the town's birthday! We only have three hours before the ceremony!"
Immediately, the queen's eyes opened up. She sat in her bed, remembering that it was July 17th- the anniversary of their town. Within minutes, in her best blue dress, and her hair down behind the tiny icicle crown, came barging out of her bedroom. Princesses ran to the ballroom and dining room, decorating to the very last details. Vanelope was already waiting, in her casual outfit and a smile on her face. Until she saw the worrying queen rushing around with a frozen clipboard securely in her hand.
"Flowers? Check. The overhead lights? Check. Did we get that cake decorated?" She asked Vanelope," I feel like the fairies are going to mess it up in the limited amount of time we have."
"Elsa!" the little girl exclaimed," Everything is going to be okay. You've been working way too hard on this entire festival."
"Val is right," Merida came around with Belle and Ariel, who each had stacks in their arms," Ya can't be worryin' aboot every lil thing that comes 'ere wae."
"What Mer means," Ariel brought up," is that you just need to relax. Everyone is helping and organizing the last minute details. Mickey's worrying too- but I think Minnie's finally settled him down. All you and the others have to do is calm down."
Elsa knew it was best for her not to freak out- but she couldn't help it. She knew this ceremony was important in the kingdom, and each year, the town's biggest event grew. Each town member had their own part in the whole production, but in the end, it all came together. The queen looked to her friends, then glanced to her sister, who was busy setting down the fancy carpets that draped along a beautiful walkway. Aladdin was discussing something with Jasmine and Flynn Rider, who had his hands all over the vases. The queen saw how Donald and Moana worked together, despite the duck's screaming and nervous ramblings. Kuzco kept waving his hands around, much to the annoyance of Kristoff and John Smith. Elsa smiled as she looked around, but stopped when she saw Olaf trying to pluck the flowers.
"Olaf!" she exclaimed," What are you doing?"
"Just picking flowers for you," the snowman explained with a smile, then stopped," Should I pick a different kind?"
The queen went to go stop the snowman. Merida looked to the other girls, a smirk on her pale face.
"Relaxin' ain't in her vocabulary."
The hours were passing and soon, it was less than half an hour before the big start. The people gathered in the square, surrounding the platform stage that Mickey and the others would soon stand upon. Many residents laughed and talked about, their excitement on high and decor setting perfectly. Dante barked and chased Bolt, who kept his ears perked up. Patch and his siblings followed, yipping and circling around the square. Officer Hopps was turned around in seconds, her eyes widened as she adjusted herself onto the ground.
"No running!" she yelled, but had a soft smile on her face as she walked over to Nick, Tom Cat and Kronk," I think is gonna be another great party this year."
"Certainly," Tom purred, strutting down the long brick wall," I've seen everybody running around like chickens with their heads cut off for the past few months. They're so worried about everything being perfect, but you know the old saying-"
"Give a man a fish and feed him for a day," Kronk brought up," Teach him to fish, feed him for life."
"I think the saying is nobody's perfect, buddy," Nick mentioned.
"No, I'm pretty sure it's the fish saying...I'm pretty sure."
Further down by the brick wall, three boys sat together with Roo by their side. The little joey watched Miguel play the guitar with ease. Hiro and Russell had always been impressed by the skills of the young musician. His hands softly strummed the cords of the guitar as he sang in beautiful Spanish, concentration in his eyes. The friends applauded once the young boy was finished, and the smile remained on his face.
"Another great song!" Hiro cheered.
"Gracias, gracias," the young man stood up and bowed before the group.
"How do you do it, Miguel?" Roo questioned with innocent excitement.
"I guess it's just in my blood," he smiled, then looked in the distance, where he could see several carriages on their way," They're here! They're here!"
In an instant, the group of characters came together around the huge stand, eyes looking out for Mickey, or Elsa, or anyone else that could be deemed "Disney Royalty". In the first carriage, Elsa sat awkwardly. Sure, she had known Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie for almost seven years and, yes, they had been more than kind to her. Yet, she felt lower than they were. This was only her second time leading on the big extravaganza, and that was three years ago. Seeing the look in the queen's eyes as they pulled to the steps of the stage, Mickey smiled to her.
"Don't worry," he reassured," at least this isn't the 65th Anniversary. Just think of it as another big party."
"I just hope I can remember my speech," she sighed, seeing all the characters smiling at her.
"Oh!" Minnie gasped," I made sure that you had flashcards on the podium. It's always best to have them just in case!"
"Thank you, Minnie," Elsa took a deep breath as the door opened. She was greeted with the face of The Genie, who wore a tux and had a smirk on his animated face.
"You look marvelous, MARVELOUS, Queen Elsa," he said with spunk as he helped her out of the carriage.
"Thank you, Genie."
She watched as the others soon stepped out, greeting their friends and chatting as they made their way up the stairs and onto the stage. The love she got from the other characters, whom welcomed her, Anna and their friends so well, made her smile and slowly forget her fears.
The Mayor Halloween Town's face turned back to the happy side as he approached.
"I am pleased to welcome to the stage, Mr. Mickey Mouse!"
The male mouse waved to his friends and let out his signature laugh as he stood before the crowd. A hush fell over as he tapped on the microphone and stood firmly before everyone.
"Welcome everyone, to the anniversary of our wonderful town!" he exclaimed," We have had over sixty years of fun together at the happiest place on earth. And it has never been more amazing than this moment."
The people cheered with ever present excitement. Elsa, on the other hand, only smiled. She listened to Mickey's speech, while her mind waved onto her own. The queen knew she had been giving nervous glances all around the square. However, as Mickey announced the queen's name, and as she walked to the podium, all nerves shut down. She relaxed her hands on the sides, looking down at the cards before her. Elsa knew she wouldn't need them (being that she recited the speech at least three times a week) but to have them sitting perfectly on the wood was like an old blanket for a baby. With a deep breath, the queen gave a soft grin and adjusted her crown.
"Good afternoon, Disneyland," she started slowly," I want to start off by thanking everyone for being here this afternoon. We've had a lot of hard work from many of our friends who have made this day even more spectacular. I'm so happy to kick off the 64th Anniversary of our beloved town!"
Wilbur and Simba could see that the ceremony had already started. They were afraid to be late, but they knew the castle had to be perfect. They had a fast pace, but the two were on a slow walk, as they had heard the queen's speech a hundred times in the past three months. Wall-e traveled calmly behind, his wheels treading and EVE right by his side.
"I told you we were going to be late," Wilbur mentioned, although he didn't seem too worried.
"We were gonna be late no matter what," the lion laughed," Did you want a perfect table or not?"
"I mean," the boy said," it's what the queen wants. We can't have another incident like the one three years ago. Remember three years ago, when that cake fell down because Dash-"
As they talked, Wall-e stopped short. EVE noticed and glanced to her robot boyfriend. She repeated his name twice before he nervously sped up to Wilbur and Simba. A piercing beeping sound exploded from the robot, who kept screaming in his small voice. The boy and the lion showed faces of confusion as EVE looked back.
At the edge of the town, just a few miles away, a looming cloud of black dust gathered around. Sounds of whipping winds echoed and unidentified, ghoulish creatures running to the town. They climbed on walls and hopped to rooftops. The different styles of the town came together for the ape like creatures, with skulls for faces, as they surrounded something (or someone) on a horse. Their bright clothes stood out, but nothing else did. Immediately, the four started running, hoping to get to the square before something bad was going to happen.
"And as we await new members of our town," Elsa continued, having completely calmed down from her previous state," we flourish. I am proud to be a royal member of Disney and I believe everyone should-"
Elsa stopped mid sentence. She could see the cloud in the distance, and the army coming for the town. Others had noticed by now, and they started to panic. The Mayor of Halloween Town turned to the worried face, grumbling about a ruined festival. Mickey worriedly ran to the podium, not knowing what was going to happen.
"Everyone, remain calm!" he begged," Please just remain-"
"Everybody run!" Chicken Little screamed.
By the time the four had approached the square, everyone was panicking. Woody and Buzz led the toys into a nearby bush, along with Bolt and Mittens. The officers of Zootopia led citizens into nearby shops and locked the doors. Kronk hid behind a rock, while Baymax stared onward.
"I am sensing impending danger," he said in his usual voice, while Hiro grabbed his hand.
"Yeah, me too buddy," the boy said as they fled behind the stage.
The royals stood on the stage and watched as the creatures and figure rode towards them. Kuzco glanced between Aladdin and Merida, and slowly turned away.
"This is the part where we hid too-"
"Not by a long shot," Merida disagreed.
The girls, remembering their time in the Wreck-It Ralph sequel, hopped off the stage together and before the oncoming crowd. Snarls and winds were heard, as bows and swords were drawn out. Elsa looked to her friends and Anna, and slowly prepared herself. If only she had known today could get any worse. The ape like creatures howled as they approached the group- yet, they did not attack. Residents watched in fear as the person on the horse rode to Elsa, who clenched her freezing fists.
The person had a bright outfit, clashing with all sorts of pinks, purples and neon colors. Some parts of the pink coat had faded and torn, the rest of the outfit having the same effect. The stranger had a faded flower bandana covering their mouth, while a helmet with broken goggles dawned the rest of their head. Elsa stared up at the stranger with a frozen glare.
"You're in danger," the stranger spoke softly.
"Excuse me?" the queen asked, surprised that the newcomer spoke first.
"I've come here under terrible circumstances. You see, Queen Elsa, your world is falling faster and faster with each passing minute. Children are getting older, dreams are fading and Disney is starting to die out. Did you think things were going to last forever?"
"What are you talking about?" Anna questioned.
"Disney will end," they threatened," Your world is about to end. And we will be the cause. We represent the lost innocence of your followers. We will be the death of your town," The stranger then picked up a beautiful pink flower, which shriveled and died in a matter of seconds,"But, I will be generous. If you can find someone that can convince me not to take away the innocence of Disneyland, I will back down and you will never hear or see me again. However, I will only give you five days. Five. Do what you will."
The stranger and their minions turned away, leaving a trail of darkness behind them. Elsa felt her heart race, the other princesses nervously glancing to one another. Everyone started to come out of their hiding spots, mumbling softly to one another. Mickey approached the royals, fear in his eyes.
"That awful stranger has come every few years," he sighed," They show up when kids stop feeling the magic. When they stop believing. I don't think it's ever been this serious."
"What are we gonna do?" Bambi nervously asked.
Elsa saw the fearful group. How they had now been the nervous ones. But the queen wouldn't have it. She would not allow her friends and family to be scared. She would not let anything hurt the town. Not even something such as lost innocence. She looked to the mouse, who looked up to her as a determined grin came to her face.
"We just have to find someone that believes."
