AN: This is my first torchwood fanfiction so I am apologizing in advance if it is really fluffy and all around bad. Anyway, this takes place right after Countrycide. I thought it was crazy how Ianto got the shit beaten out of him and both Jack and Owen cared more about Gwen than the trauma that Ianto and Tosh just went through. So this is me attempting to fix that. Leave me a review to let me know what you think! :-D

Ianto watched dazedly as Gwen strode briskly past. He probably should have been more upset that the last thing anyone had done to see if he was okay after getting the shit beaten out of him by human cannibals was a distracted pat on a severely bruised arm from an unfocused Owen. Ianto was then ushered to sit in the open trunk of the SUV. He watched as Tosh was led by an equally distracted Jack to the ambulance. He supposed he could escort himself to the ambulance but in all honesty his body was in enough pain as it was and he did not want to put it through anymore. He distantly heard the hushed, angry voices of Gwen, Owen, and Jack disagreeing about something or another. It wasn't long before he fell into a restless sleep.

Ianto jerked to consciousness to the feeling of a hand on his shoulder; fearing it was the cannibals coming back for him, he lurched away from the contact in fear, almost falling over. He was sure he would have collided with the rough, unforgiving gravel if he was not caught by a warm embrace with the familiar voice of Captain Jack Harkness. "It's okay. I've got you." Ianto released an involuntary shudder and before he could stop himself buried himself deeper into Jack's embrace.

"Is the tea boy alright?" Questioned a slightly disgruntled Owen.

"Fine," Jack replied shortly, he picked up Ianto before slamming the trunk and navigating the two of them into the back seat where a shocked Tosh was surprised to see both Jack and Ianto joining her. Jack tossed the keys to an amused Owen as a stunned Gwen slid into the passenger seat.

"Jack…?" Gwen asked softly.

"Fine," he replied curtly. Gwen opened her mouth to protest further but Jack cut her off before she was able to. Locking eyes with Owen, said in a commanding voice, "Fine. Go."

Owen smirked and replied, "Yes, sir." He was still looking smug as he started the SUV and screeched away from the nightmare that is that stretch of country.

In the backseat, Tosh's eyes were tightly closed and her head was resting on Ianto's shoulder. Ianto himself was staring straight ahead, eyes glazed over sitting stiffly and unmoving. Next to him was Jack, sitting with an inch of space between the two of them. He sighed quietly, only Ianto seemed to take notice, and even then the only response the Welshman made was a blink from his otherwise unmoving body. Jack took that as a good sign and closed the gap between them; his right leg was pressed against Ianto's left, the American's right side against the Welshman's left, the captain's right arm and shoulder against the tea boy's left. Said tea boy gave a small shudder and sigh before relaxing against Jack and letting his head fall onto Jack's shoulder. He did not notice Gwen's surprised face but Jack did and responded with a glare. Her cheeks turning pink she averted her eyes. Jack proceeded to rest his own forehead against Ianto's.

It was not until they had cleared the country that Ianto had relaxed enough to close his eyes and fall asleep.
