It was another quiet day in the house of Matthew Williams, a.k.a Canada. It was mid Summer, so for once there was no snow on the ground outside.
Well, it was quiet until the other resident in Canada's house woke up as well.
"Feed me," wined Kuma, walking over to the blond still sleeping in the bed.
" Five more mins Kuma, you know the rules…I feed you when I get up," answered the sleeping blond, an arm coming out from under the covers to push the little polar bear away.
" Feed me! Now!" After this little statement a cold, wet nose was put on the back of his neck, and after a very unmanly squeak Canada sat upright and gave the bear a grumpy look.
" You're awake, feed me now," he stated as he sat back and looked at his owner.
" Fine, I'm up…You know, you wouldn't have starved if you'd waited five more minutes," snapped Canada, throwing the cover off himself (showing his maple leaf boxes to the bear – not that animals care about clothes anyway). Grabbing his glasses he headed for the kitchen.
"Who, feed me!" Kuma wined again, following him in to the kitchen.
" You know, it would be nice if you could remember my name," he said softly, opening a cupboard door.
" Feed me first," was the reply.
" Fine, here. Eat this then," said Canada, dropping something red and shiny in to Kuma's paws.
" What is it?" asked the confused bear.
" Its what's known as a penguin. I know you haven't eaten one before, but the killer whale, which also eats a lot of fish, enjoys them. So why not give it a try?" Canada explained, getting the ingredients ready for his own breakfast, knowing that what he said was only mostly right.
As Canada continued to make his own breakfast, he listened to the sounds of Kuma trying to eat his.
" You, help me," wined Kuma, finally giving in and asking for help.
" Sorry, I don't answer to that," was the short reply as he flipped over his pancake (he had decided to go for the thinner English style today).
" Who, help me please." He was looking super cute, but this was now a battle of wills.
" Close, but still not the right words," he answered, covering his pancake with the best maple syrup around.
" Canada, help me please," begged Kuma, with tears in his eyes.
" See, it wasn't that hard, was it?" Canada smiled as he bent down, took the item from the little paws, peeled the red shiny cover off and handed over the brown item inside.
" Thank you, Canada."
Sometimes it's the small battles that count, and it was a kind of sneaky way to win…
After all, everyone knows that the only reason polar bears don't eat penguins is
…..
….
…
..
.
They can't get the wrappers off.
