Tonights episode of glee is the first one in a long time that inspired me to write. I have a few more one shots in my head for this episode but this one was playing out in my head and wouldn't let me sleep even though I have to get up early tomorrow so I typed it and am now about to call it a night. This is my Easter gift to one of my best friends, Julie (TheFluffQueen) Love you babe! Hope you enjoy!

Rachel was in the middle of greeting her many fans after her amazing opening night of Funny Girl, when a young man caught her eye.

"Jesse?"

"Hey Rach. You were phenomenal up there!" Jesse said, smiling. He braced himself to catch her as she threw herself into his arms.

"What are you doing here? I didn't know you were coming."

"As if I would miss your opening night. I always knew you would be a big Broadway star."

Rachel smiled, remembering back when he told her that all of this wasn't a dream because dreams could fail but her being on stage was inevitable. He had been angry with her for the Run Joey Run debacle and yet he still put his anger aside to help her through her fears. She loved him for that. "You always believed in me. Even when you were being a complete ass, I knew you believed I'd make it"

Jesse laughed at her language before saying, "You being lead in Funny Girl was bound to happen. You are too talented for it not to have. Your performance tonight was flawed but your talented.

Those words brought back some memories too, long ago memories but instead of looking at Jesse like a starry eyed school girl, this time she gave him the glare those words deserved. "Flawed? What was wrong with it?"

Before he could answer, Rachel's director called "Talk to your friend later, Rachel. Your fans are waiting." Sure enough the crowd had only gotten bigger as she and Jesse had lived in their own little world and Rachel couldn't make her fans wait any longer. "Go wait over there with everyone. We'll talk when I'm done here."

Jesse just nodded, walking over to stand by Blaine and wait like the rest of them.

A little over an hour later, Rachel was allowed to go back to her dressing room and get changed. After that she met everyone outside to get in the limo that was taking them to celebrate.

They all climbed in, each of them secretly happy that the patented Berry glare was aimed at Jesse and not any of them.

Blaine was telling the driver where to go as Rachel turned on Jesse. "Just what did you find flawed about my performance, Jesse St. James?"

He just shrugged a little before answering, "I may have misspoke. You were absolutely flawless it was the play itself that was flawed."

Her mouth dropped, "How could you say Funny Girl is flawed?"

"They didn't have the best leading man to balance out the greatest leading lady" He gave her a smirk as he said it.

She looked him in the eyes, giving a smirk of her own as she said, "Well I'm sure they tried but Noah's just so busy with his mechanic shop and pool business now that he's out of the military, I'm sure he just didn't have the time."

Jesse didn't rise to the bait, as he would have years ago, instead he just nodded, "Puck would definitely have been better than the guy you have now but he wasn't who I was talking about."

"Then who?"

"The only leading man who could keep up with you on stage is the only leading man who could have any hope of keeping up with you in real life..." He put his fingers under her chin, gently lifting her face so she was looking him in the eyes again, "Me"

He leaned in and kissed her then and all of the people and all of their problems melted away for that one perfect moment. Sure they had things to work out and they would have problems in the future but right then in that moment, for the first time in a long time, both of them were truly happy, both of them were home.
