"This is weird and I'm friends with a talking sponge," said Lincoln, walking along a rocky path.

Lincoln walked to the edge of the cliff at the end of the path, hoping to find what he was looking for, but all he saw was nothing but the endless blue sea in front of him.

"Where am I?" the 11-year old wondered. "I was at home and then…"

"HHHHHEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!"

Lincoln turned around and spotted a boy running towards him. The boy wore orange shorts and black shirt with a red swirly design on it. His spiky blonde hair was held up by a black bandanna and his cheeks possessed three whisker markings each. Lincoln only glimpsed into his blue eyes, but from that one glimpse, he could tell that there was something about him he couldn't understand. Overall, the appearance of the boy seemed reminiscent of a manga character, something that surprised Lincoln upon realizing that fact. The boy stopped in front of him with a confused expression on his face.

"Huh? Who are you?" the confused boy asked.

"I'm Lincoln," Lincoln introduced himself. "Lincoln Loud."

"I didn't know people lived here," the boy chuckled, scratching his cheeks.

"Um…" Lincoln started.

Realizing he hasn't introduced himself yet, the boy placed his hands behind his head and smiled.

"Oh, I'm Naruto," the boy introduced himself. "Naruto Uzumaki."

Lincoln couldn't help but smile along with Naruto. It was almost as if his happy nature was infectious.

"Hey, Naruto, have you seen 10 girls around here?" asked Lincoln. "5 of them are older than me and other 5 are younger."

"Mmm, not really," Naruto replied. "In fact you're the first person I've seen here."

"I see… Well then, I guess it's time to go find them!" Lincoln declared.

"Hey, I'm looking for a few people too. How 'bout we look for our missing companions together? It'll make things more fun," Naruto stretched his fist towards Lincoln

"Sure," Lincoln grinned and bumped fists with Naruto.

"Alright!" Naruto cheered. "Time for a new adventure! And the first thing we need to do is run away from the giant serpent that's about to attack us."

"Wait, what giant serpent?" asked Lincoln.

Lincoln turned around and noticed a giant brightly colored body behind him. Lincoln's nervously followed the scaly body up and was shocked to see a 100-foot serpent staring him down.

"Oh, that giant serpent," Lincoln glanced back at Naruto and you. "We should run now."

"Yep," Naruto nodded his head in agreement.

The two boys screamed in unison and ran down the rocky path away from the serpent. The serpent gave chase to the young boys, prompting them to run even faster.

"You know if that thing wasn't trying to eat us, that thing would be a cool pet," Naruto grinned.

Lincoln was surprised by Naruto's nonchalant attitude about their current situation. It was almost as if he was enjoying himself.

"How can you be so calm at a time like this?" asked Lincoln.

"Oh, I'm not calm," Naruto replied. "I'm scared, surprised and excited all at once. It's just at this very moment my excitement is the main emotion that's shown. You'd experience this kind of complex emotional surge if you've been through fights, through trauma through fights."

Suddenly, the serpent chasing dived underwater, disappearing from sight.

"Did it give up?" Lincoln wondered.

"It's never that easy," Naruto replied.

Naruto turned out to be absolutely right. The serpent jumped out of the water as if a volcano has just erupted and flew through the air on its way to its meal. Lincoln was paralyzed with fear. He thought this would be the end, but Naruto simply smiled and grabbed Lincoln. He jumped into the air and used his remaining hand to grab onto one of the serpent's nasal barbels. The two of them landed onto the serpents back and Naruto used his now free hand to grab onto the other barbel.

"Hang on!" Naruto instructed.

Lincoln did as he instructed and Naruto eagerly yanked the serpent's barbels, sending it into a fit of rage. The serpent thrashed about, trying to throw the two off of it before diving into the water. Moments later, the serpent emerged from the water and headed for the shore under Naruto's direction.

"This is awesome!" Lincoln cheered.

"Yeah!" Naruto grinned. "But now it's time to get off."

Naruto grabbed Lincoln once more and jumped off the serpent as it crashed into the rocky shore.

"Time to find our friends!" Naruto declared.
