Proloque: A Hero's Fate
Many wonder what defines a hero. Many contemplate that the hero decides. Some believe it his sins and good deeds. Others believe it is the Fates. Yet, still some believe it is none of these but all of these put together. Personally, I believe that it is the people around the hero, the monsters he or she fights. The family life he has. The environment he puts himself in. The way he treats his friends and foes. The way he treats complete strangers. Usually, a hero and many a good man, always end tragically, even if they have all of these qualities. For that is a hero's fate, decided by Chaos, and the Fates at the beginning of time. So many hero's experience this, that they resign themselves to their fates, that they go from a good person, and become bitter and distant, and gruff, in godhood, or in Hades. Then there are the elite few, who choose to always be chivalrous, who defy fate. Who make themselves a resistance against the Hero's Fate. Against Chaos himself. Against every deity who has ever enforced the Hero's Fate. Not even Fate himself, agrees with the Hero's Fate. Even when they oppose the Fate though, usually, a hero dies mentally from it. Theyy are forced to watch others endure the consuquences of their actions, and watch their loved ones experience the consuquences of falling for a hero or being the child of a hero. A hero. More like a slave to Chaos. One that he uses to fight the Darkness, instead of doing it himself. It may be good in the long run, but what about the families affected. It causes Darkness to fall, but it also causes Darkness to erupt, making what the hero did null and void. (an: ha pun). Yet, there is one hero. One hero, trained by Chaos, the fates, Fate himself, and the Primordials. He has been trained since the beginning. He does not have the standard hero's fate upon him. It is much worse. He must fight his father, the "Darkness," and win. He must find love, and be able to keep it, but in the end, he is meant to die, as al hero's do. At what cost must he wipeout Darkness. For he is destined to fall for, Hope, Home, and the Hearth. If he falls for the hearth as much as he is supposed to, and the Hearth also falls for him, if he dies, so will the Hearth, Home, and Hope, leaving a bereft humanity.
