Shy

A/N: This one was actually sort of hard because I couldn't think of anything while also trying to come up with something for my Writers' Workshop. So, I don't know how this'll turn out. Might not be my best. Based on Day 3 Act 2 pages 41-44 and Day 3 Act 3 pages 3-7, mention of Day 2 page 49, AGENCY fancomic inspired by JediAnnSolo.

Shadow's POV

"Thanks a lot fer takin' me there." She said, nudging me and winking.

I glanced down at her, replying, "It's nothing. After all, I had to do something for you to keep your mouth-"

"I told ya I wouldn't tell anyone, and I'm not. I'm a girl of my word." She proclaimed, swatting my arm.

"Anyway," I started. "Mei's more than likely waiting for us back at the hotel."

"Just hold still. Shadow, I swear if you move one more time." Mei threatened.

This seems like a bit much; I get the fact that we have to go because Mrs. McCloud asked too. Also, there's no way Mei would let me out her sight for long, but suits are like kryptonite to quills.

"I'm making you an appointment to get those trimmed."

"No. They won't grow back the same."

"That's just a myth."

Glancing at the bathroom door as my client came out; I quickly turned away for two reasons. One, it's not my business what she looks like. Two, what's up with her legs? I mean they aren't special. Maybe. She kicked me; I felt power behind them at face value. Literally.

"Ask Shadow. He knows a thing or two about cute girls."

Feeling my face get warmer, I frowned, straightening my tie. The least Mei could do is not crack jokes at my expense.

"Well, lookit you all gussied up. Yer lookin' downright dapper in dem clothes." Sandy exclaimed with the widest smile on her face.

Going towards the bathroom, I ground out, "Good."

"Shadow. Your client just paid you a really nice compliment. The least you could do is return the-"

Shutting the door, I huffed; should I really tell her this? Hell, after what happened last night I wouldn't hold it against her if she wanted to know.

"Mama's gone."

I might as well get this over with.

"I don't look forward to her finding out about the mess I made last night." I started, turning towards the door. "Let's go."

"I told you I ain't tellin' a soul. I don't mean to pry. I'm sure it's somethin' you can't-"

I cut her off, noticing the soft tone she had taken. "Every month's end."

This is going to be one long night; I'm sure of it.
