Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!
This is a little present for you. Hope you like it.
(And if you have time and would like to help me, I have just publish a novel at SwoonReads with my first original work. Link on my profile. Thanks.)
She was Jewish. Of course she had celebrated Christmas before, because it seemed almost impossible not to do so. This year was special though. It was very different, especially for the man who had now become a fixture at night, in bed.
For Wade Christmases weren't the happiest memories he had in life, but Zoe hoped this year things could change. Now that he had someone to share everything with, someone to teach the very meaning and happiness of family time.
Earl had showed up, wearing his old Santa outfit and she couldn't help but grin at him. He had put so much effort into this, into being sober and becoming a good role model. He even tried harder when he discovered the little Kinsella boy she had carried.
Everyone was besotted by Jamie.
"Ho, ho, ho," Earl laughed as he entered the room followed by Mae. They both looked so happy, and Jamie was also very excited to see Santa by the way he shook his arms and legs in Wade's embrace.
Wade smiled when his son gurgled in his arms, and he soon had to place him in Earl's lap so the tiny boy could get fascinated with the white beard.
"They are so in love with one another," Mae told Zoe, while they watched the Kinsella men opening gifts, laughing when a particularly tiny plaid shirt showed up among the presents.
"Once you know them, it's hard not to love them," Zoe responded, remembering everything from the time she first met Wade Kinsella. "They can be infuriating and stubborn, but underneath that bravado, they are the sweetest thing."
Jamie stretched his arms at her, and soon Zoe ran to get him. She loved his soft blonde hair and those big green eyes. He looked a lot like Wade, and there was no way she could dislike that.
"Would you like me to hold him while you open your gifts?" Wade asked, already offering his arms for Jamie.
"Nope," she grinned at him. "Enough of the father son time. You always wake up earlier to have manly talks. I'd like to snuggle him, thank you very much."
Wade laughed and pecked her cheek and then Jamie's forehead. The baby cooed and laid his head on her shoulder.
Not long after that, her mother arrived, her arms loaded with gifts and demanding to see her grandchild. And then friends and people who wanted to share the joy of the day also visited them.
Honestly, she had no problem celebrating Christmas if they were to be as happy as this one.
