A/N: Here's another Teddy/Henry one-shot, and this time, it's not depressing! This is in an AU where Henry survives his surgery and gets to continue a married life with Teddy. I used the song because I also adore the show Lipstick Jungle, which, in case some of you don't know, has Kim Raver (the wonderful actress that play's Teddy) in it, and there's a scene with the song in it, but mixed with Iggy Pop's "Passenger." It's great, and I recommend checking it out on YouTube or Soundcloud. Okay, enough with the random rambling. Warning, it may not be graphic, but it's still suggesting things. Ugh, I love these two. Just, why, Shonda? I miss them so much! I do not own Grey's Anatomy, nor do I own the song, "Fever" by Peggy Lee.

Never know how much I love you

Never know how much I care

Days usually dragged on for surgeons working at Seattle Grace Mercy West hospital, and today was no different. The weather was exceptionally beautiful outside, the temperature perfect in the mid-seventies, not a single cloud in the sky. The air buzzed all day with the sounds of activity within the city. Those who got to enjoy the conditions seemed to have a tranquil attitude, even the patients in the hospital. Everyone working that day seethed at being trapped within the thick walls. For Teddy Altman, the cabin fever had nearly driven her up the walls. She'd been dying to get outside to enjoy it while it was there. All day, the only thing on her mind was getting home, where she could leave all the stress from work behind her and she could rest. More importantly, she wanted to see her husband, Henry, whom she left sound asleep that morning to go to work. Work had her spending days without being beside him, unable to spend the amount of time with him that she wanted to. She wanted—no, she needed—him close to her. She knew she would explode soon if she couldn't leave. So when the day finally ended and she could go, Teddy left the hospital without a single word to anyone (except a "goodbye" to Arizona). She wouldn't spend another exhausting moment without seeing her husband. Withdrawal had her desiring him from the moment she left him that morning.

Teddy burst through the front door with a huff. Relief washed over her as she walked into her home after nearly 18 hours of working. Here at home, no one could call her by her last name, she didn't have to worry about someone crashing on her OR table. She threw her jacket and purse off to the side once she closed the door, and then she looked around. Her eyes fell upon a colorful item on the table nearby – a bouquet of flowers, and a note beside it. The pastel green card had something scribbled on it, and she walked up to it to take it within her grasp. She smiled upon reading it.

Welcome home, babe. I love you.

Her heart swelled at his gesture. Henry would always do things like this; small, sweet things just to make her smile. God, she loved this man. She still couldn't believe she almost walked away from him. Nevertheless, she was surely glad she decided to stay. Speaking of him, Teddy glanced around the room, noticing he wasn't there. "Henry?" she called. She peered down at the note in her hand, then. He was about to surprise her, she knew it.

She suddenly became aware that Henry was coming up behind her by then. Through the corner of her eye, she saw him reflection in the window, and she heard the wooden floors creaking beneath the weight of his footsteps. Teddy waited for him, anticipating the moment where his arms would wrap around her waist and pull her into him. She longed to be within his arms again. After that long day, it was all she needed. Finally, strong but gentle arms snaked around her body from behind, just as she could feel his breath against the skin of her neck. He had also been awaiting her arrival, having missed her all day long. Teddy craned her neck so he could press his lips against the top of her shoulder, and it sent electricity surging through her body.

"Hey, you," Henry's voice whispered into her ear. "I missed you." He kissed her behind her ear this time.

"Oh, Henry," Teddy breathed as he continued to kiss her. "You have no idea. Did you get these just because?"

The man nodded with pride. "I felt that my wife should come home to something to make her smile. And it worked."

Teddy smiled. "Thank you," she murmured, leaning into him. He responded by tightening his hug a bit. Then, he let go so he could turn her around and gaze into her beautiful green eyes.

"I love you, Teddy Altman," he said sweetly before he pulled her toward him for a long kiss on the lips.

When you put your arms around me

I get a fever that's so hard to bear

You give me fever

Teddy thought she was going to melt into a puddle on the floor. His kisses always made her knees incredibly weak, and she knew that it would never change. But she liked it that way. The fever that he gave her was hard to bear, but only because she would rather tease him for a while than jump into things. If she had any less self-control, her clothes would be tossed aside in an instant. When they broke the kiss after a while, Teddy had the impulse to grab the hem of his shirt and lift it off of him as quickly as possible, for the fire raged within her body. But she didn't; she wanted to keep him waiting and see what he would do. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and touched foreheads with him. Their green gazes danced with one another, their smiles both widened from ear to ear.

"I love you, Henry Burton," she whispered, and Henry felt her breath against his mouth. He couldn't take it anymore, or the suspense would probably kill him. He brushed his lips against hers, just barely grazing over them, and it left Teddy yearning for more. Dammit! He beat her at her own teasing game. She gave him an I-see-what-you-did-there-look. "Come back here, knucklehead!" she giggled.

Henry obeyed by pressing to her lips again, a hungrier kiss this time. His hands sneaked under the fabric of her shirt so they could feel the softness of the skin of her back. Chill bumps rose across Teddy's body as a result. Unable to bear this fever any longer, she dropped her hands from his neck to the find hem of his shirt, and she pulled upward. He pulled back from her for only a moment while she rid him of his shirt, tossing it aside. The effect he now had on her had become so overwhelming that she could barely remain standing, so she started to back herself against the counter for support and made Henry walk the few steps with her. It was no use, Teddy still felt herself beginning to melt to the floor. But before she could, Henry placed a hand on one of her hips, while the other reached past her to slide the bouquet out of the way. He lifted her onto the counter with ease, and a pleased moan escaped her in response.

By now, both their bodies raged with fire, burning with passion. Teddy felt Henry's tongue trace her lips as they begged for entry, and she parted them to allow it. His tongue explored the inside of her mouth, their breaths becoming heavier the more he kissed her. Suddenly, he pulled away, Teddy moaning in protest, but she relaxed as she felt his mouth tracing her jawline to her ear, then dropping to her neck, and even farther down. He left a trail of kisses down her chest until he found the fabric of her shirt, and he grunted. Teddy gave him a mildly confused glance.

"Your shirt is in my way," he breathed into the skin of her neck.

"Then get rid of it," she murmured a reply that was beyond her control. Henry's hands searched for her bottom hem and yanked it up, peeled it off her, and threw it backwards before his hands went back to her now exposed waist. Teddy began to feel around for the button of his pants. "Your pants are in my way," she pointed out, only to lead Henry to bring his hands away from her body to take hold of his jeans. He slid them off his legs with ease, with nothing left on him except his boxers. God, Teddy didn't know how much longer she could wait. Her heart slammed against her chest with the anticipation.

Henry's knuckles brushed against the skin below her belly button, just above the hem of her own pants. He grasped it, working quickly to unfasten the button and unzip them, before he glanced deeply into her eyes, as if he was asking her permission. She nodded in exasperation and, by grabbing the edge of the counter, hoisted herself up so he could have an easier time sliding the jeans over the curve of her hips. He let them drop to the floor before taking a moment to look his wife over and over. When did he get this lucky? He had a hot wife that loved him. What did he ever do to deserve that?

Teddy took the opportunity to wrap her legs around his waist, her arms around his neck, using them to pull him to her so she could crush her lips against him yet again. She breathed heavily as he worked her, and at one point, a moan sneaked past her lips, which made Henry become more impatient. Something about the way she moaned sent him into a frenzy, and it sent his lips trailing down her bronzed body. She felt his hands move from her waist to her back and start to fumble with the buckle of her bra. She snickered when he grunted with frustration trying to unhook it.

"Having trouble?" she asked smugly, but he silenced her with his mouth and went back to mess with her bra hooks. At long last, she felt the piece of fabric suddenly loosen from her chest, the straps slipping off her shoulders. Henry sighed with relief and satisfaction. Teddy's face flooded with heat from childish embarrassment. She did this every time; he thought it was kind of cute. His fingers traced over her skin as he ever so slowly pulled her bra from her body, and before she knew it, she was exposed, the cold hitting her instantly, that is, until Henry bent to kiss her on her collarbone, then made his way down her skin, sending chills down her spine while the rest of the body burned. She tightened her legs around him, nails digging into his back the more he explored her skin. "Good God, Henry!" she gasped.

Suddenly, Henry's hands were under her thighs again, and he picked her up into his arms. She held on tightly as he walked away from the counter, towards the bedroom. Thankfully, the door was already open, but he shut it behind them with a single kick to it. He fell onto the bed with her, but he made sure his weight wasn't crushing her, even though he knew she was strong enough to bear it anyway. She kept his legs around him but her arms let go to cup his face. While he used one arm to keep himself steady, he brought the other one down to her hips, grabbing the fabric of her underwear. Before doing anything else, his eyes gave her a look, a silent ask for permission. She nodded in exasperation.

"For God's sake, Henry," she gasped. "Yes!"

Henry's hand seemed to then act on its own, as it yanked down on the fabric, sliding it over the curve of her bottom. She lifted herself upwards to make it easier for him, only taking her legs away from him for a few seconds so she could kick her underwear off her ankles. She was now completely exposed. Henry though, was not. Teddy gave him a sneaky grin, and Henry knit his brow, puzzled.

"What?" he asked quietly.

She giggled, "You're still wearing too much." Immediately, he understood, and he spoke quietly, "Then why don't you fix that?"

Teddy worked as quickly as she could to rid him of his boxers, the passion she felt almost unbearable. Henry would never know where she threw them. He didn't care; he was too focused on the way his wife looked so beautiful there beneath him. She stared up at him, her green eyes sparkling even in the darkness of their bedroom. He offered her his signature dazzling smile, knowing she'd squirm and smile giddily in return. Teddy drew in a sharp breath when she felt him press against her thigh; she didn't need to glance down to see how awfully close he was. Jesus Christ, she thought. Her heart slammed against her chest. She'd never felt her pulse race so fast; well, that was a lie, since it always raced whenever she was with him. She inhaled deeply through her nose, taking in the scent of him and his cologne. He'd never worn cologne until he met Teddy. She pretended not to notice, but she couldn't hide her weakness for it. Henry knew how much she liked it.

By now, she clung to him with impatience. As he traced her jaw with his mouth, Teddy couldn't take it anymore. "I need you," she pleaded. "Now."

He nodded, and he slowly, gently gained entrance. Her back arched as he did, her toes curling while she gasped sharply. This was far from a new feeling to her, but still, every time it seemed like it really was new, at least; it exhilarated her as if it was a first. She let out a deep, passionate breath as he gained rhythm. He grunted with each thrust, and soon, there was no way she could stop herself from emitting moans from her own throat that became synchronized with his. She craned her neck as he breathed into her neck, kissing the pulse point there. Warm breath heated her skin there. Their bodies grew slick with sweat. Teddy was having a hard time keeping quiet, and so was Henry, as his heavy exhale started to become louder and more extreme. Her hips bucked wildly below him, their connection bringing them as close as physically possible. She didn't even notice that her moans had turned into screams.

He had picked up speed by now, gradually, just like her pleasured shouts. She clung on for dear life, the pleasure beginning to overcome her. There was no stopping her now, no turning back. She let out a cry of release, back arching, toes curling, her voice aching from the scream, and her legs pulling him closer and deeper into her. Henry's own release followed close behind hers; Teddy could feel it deep within her center. His yell wasn't as extreme as hers, but the sensation was all the same. They remained there together for a few moments, still connected and allowing themselves to take in the last bits of the pleasure. Finally, he came away from her and rolled onto the bed beside her. He lay on his side, propping himself up on one elbow to gaze at his beautiful, sweaty, smiling wife, who rolled onto her side to gaze back at her handsome, out-of-breath, and gentleman of a husband.

They panted to catch their breath, still synchronized. Sweat made her hair cling to her face. Henry gently stroked her face to brush the strands away and tuck them behind her ear. A sweet smile spread over his own face. Their green eyes danced within each other's gaze. How often was it to have two people, madly in love with each other, who have the same color eyes? Teddy felt that it was luck, and it made her that much more attracted to him.

"Wow," Henry's breathing finally started to slow, as did Teddy's. She nodded in agreement just as blown away.

"Right back at you," she sighed pleasingly, a smile remaining on her face. He took the opportunity to kiss her on the nose, then on the cheek, then on the lips, this time not as aggressive or hungry. Just a gentle, loving shower of kisses. "Why can't we just stay like this for the rest of our lives?"

"Because my wife is one of the greatest cardio surgeons in the world," he replied. "And she can't just stop being great."

Teddy rolled her eyes with a smirk. "Okay, not the answer I expected from you."

"I know. I wish we could stay here forever." He watched her as she shuffled closer to him, pulling the covers from under them so they could cuddle beneath, and curled up next to him. She took his hand and placed her head upon his chest. His heartbeat was clear in her ear. It gave her peace, knowing he was alive and well, something she definitely would never get tired of knowing, thanks to the scare he gave her the day she came home to find him coughing up blood.

Out of nowhere, she stifled a yawn, and she noticed how her eyes had grown heavy. She wasn't the only one to notice, either. "Tired, sweetheart?" Henry's voice murmured into the still air of the room. She nodded admittedly. After a long day like that, along with the intimacy with him, he understood why she was worn out. "No surprise. You work yourself too hard, you know that?"

"At least I have you to keep me sane," Teddy added. "Maybe later this week, I'll arrange another 'bring-your-husband-to-work-day' if I can."

"I like the sound of that," he chuckled. He kissed the top of her head while running his finger through her golden hair. "Now, get some rest. Hopefully tomorrow, we'll get another chance."

She yawned again, shutting her eyes. "I love you," she said, the last words she spoke before she drifted off. Henry held her close, dozing off not too much longer after her. Both their mouths creased into smiles, as they took in each other's warmth. Henry sighed deeply, speaking a quiet "I love you, too," not sure if Teddy was still awake to hear him.

Teddy's smile grew in her slumber; she had heard him. She wasn't sure if she'd dreamt it, but she heard it. Though the moment of intimacy had since passed, it didn't matter; even when she was fast asleep, as long as he held her tight in his arms, the fever and ecstasy would never go away.

For he had her running on sunshine.

When you kiss me

Fever when you hold me tight

Fever in the morning

Fever all through the night
