"Whoa there, buddy, watch where you're pointing those things. I've already had one attempt on my life today and I'd rather not go through that again."

I've seen too many fangs in my life time, one time even Smallville sprouted a pair (with a taste of that damn red rock), of all shapes and sizes and I wasn't in the mood to have his shining at me through that wicked grin of his.

But when I shimmed my way into Josef Kostan's office, being the badass reporter I'm now every day of the week, I wasn't ready for one, him getting all freaking with a couple of modals (soon I'll learn they were 'freshies') and two, the red eyes and fangs.

(unlike Micks they were adult rather then baby)

"You're the one that broke into my office, Miss Lane, quite gracefully I might add but it's trespassing none the less. As you can tell my face, still handsome in every way, I don't care for trespassers very much."

This isn't my first time trespassing, in the past five years I've had my fill of them and of life and death situations (a whole lot of those), and so far I've fallen into almost everything and now I found myself in the office of a businessman who was a vampire on the side, oh joy.

"I can see we got off the wrong foot, so I'll just be on my way, umm..please don't bite me."

Backing up in heels is somewhat of a impossibility, it's a miracle I climbed through the widow with the suckers on, and before I could steady myself I was falling toward the wide open widow.

"Son of a bitch!"

Before I found myself in another one of these situation I always seem to land in, and this time I was about to land about three stories down, I was safe in his arms but safe wouldn't be the word I would use this time because his fangs were staring me down at me.

"My, my, what a nasty mouth you have, Miss Lane."

I wasn't about to let this little moment turn into something out of one of those freaking Twilight books, and lets just hope Josef here doesn't start to sparkle (who in their right mind world find that charming?).

"And what shiny fangs you have, Mr. Kostan, now let me go."

In a second I was standing right up and my new fangy friend, who was enjoying putting on this little show of his powers (his bathed in darkness while the blur's were in light), feeling a less scared and more dazzled but not by any kind of sparkling.

(not like Chloe when she hooked up with Edward freaking Cullen last year)

"The better to bite you with, here you go just don't fall out of any widows and you'll be just fine."

"Am I allowed to leave, Mr. Kostan, or is this going to turn into something ugly?"

I knew the answer, one that wasn't filled with my blood or any others, but some part of me wanted this little dance of ours, the one that was slowing down with each word, not to come to a end.

"No, I believe you won't breathe a word of this to anyone, which I hope is true for your sake, so there won't be any biting or kidnapping of any sort. Today. Goodnight Miss Lane, it was a pleasure. And call me Josef."

That wicked grin of his, showcasing every one of his fangs my way, should have scared me off for good but even as he left me with just a lingering kiss on the hand I knew I would find my way to him again, maybe not today or tomorrow but one day.

"Same here, Josef, and thanks for keeping those suckers to yourself."
