Hello everybody!
I'm kind of new to this website, so, please bare with me!
I usually write my stories on Wattpad, but, I decided... why not bring them here?!
I really hope you guys enjoy my stories.
Don't forget to leave feedback! :)
I was abandoned by my own brother... my own family. All because of one little mistake. I was kicked out of my Grandfather's house, and was forced to live on the streets for months, until one day, my now best friend, took me in. I still remember that day... it had to have been one of the best days of my life.
"Hi there... are you okay, sir?" I opened my eyes to see a beautiful, tanned face. I looked around to notice that I was laying beside a fairly large car.
"I, uh, yeah, sure. I'm perfectly fine." I said as I finally sat up. I looked at the girl once again, getting a better look at her. Even though I was just sitting up, I was almost as tall as her. Damn.
"Are you sure you're alright? You don't look so good. How about you come in and I can make you some food or something?" She insisted. I looked at her with a confused look. She has no idea who I am, nor does she know if I'm some kind of.. psycho or something.
"Now, what if I was a serial killer? Would you still invite me into your house then?" I guess she thought I was joking because she began to snicker. "I'm pretty sure if you were a serial killer, you wouldn't just be laying out on the streets. Now, come with me. I'm not going to hurt you." She put her tiny hand out, gesturing me to come with her.
I looked up at her once again, and decided to go. I stood up and gently brushed myself off.
"Wow, I wasn't expecting you to be so... tall." I looked down at the girl, who was very, very short. I'd say she had to be either 4'8'', or 4'9'', no taller than that. As we started to walk to, who knows where, she began to talk.
"I'm Gina, by the way. I hope I don't seem like a creep or anything." She giggled to herself. That smile of her's was something else. "Well, why would you ask a random... homeless guy, to come to your house?"
She sighed, "This is where the creep part plays in, I've seen you walking around a lot, and.. you know, I felt really bad. And when I saw you today sleeping on the ground, I just had to do something." I nodded my head, even though she couldn't see me. We finally made it to a large condo complex. "Follow me."
Gina grabbed her keys from her purse and continued to walk, I had no choice but to follow. There were four doors on each side of the first floor, Gina had opened the third one down on the right.
"Don't mind the mess." She said as she shut the door behind me. I looked around the place, and I must say, for a condo, it's really nice. "It's a lot better than living out on the streets.." I mumbled.
"Go ahead, sit. You want anything to drink? Or to eat?" She asked as she threw her purse onto the floor by the couch. "I-I'll take a water, please." Seconds later, Gina came back into the living room and sat down on her recliner as she handed me my water. I nodded my head as a way of saying, thank you. "Sooo..." she trailed off.
"My name is Huey. Huey Freeman."
"Aah, Huey, Huey, Huey. Nice name." She giggled once more. "So, how old are you, Huey?"
"I'm twenty-three years old. How about you?" I asked before taking a big swig of water, God, did that taste good.
"Believe it or not, I'm twenty-two." She smiled slightly as she took a sip of whatever was in her cup. I raised my eyebrows in shock.
"You look like you're... ten." Well, she didn't really look ten... at least not body wise, but, face wise, most definitely. She sucked her teeth, and began to giggle again. "Don't let my height and my baby face fool you. I could do some damage." She smirked at me. I couldn't help but chuckle. She cleared her throat before speaking again, "So.. uh, Huey. I hope you don't mind me asking but... why are you out on the streets? For such a young person, you shouldn't be homeless already." I sighed. I knew this question was going to come.
I bit my lip hoping if I didn't answer, she would just drop it. I looked up at her to see her concerned filled eyes. Shit, I didn't even know her, and she was already getting to me. I took a deep breath in, and decided just to let it all out.

After two hours of talking, some tears from not only me, but Gina too, I was actually really starting to like her. She was such an amazing person. She had told me that she works in a hospital as an Ultrasound Tech. and, she also does volunteer work at a local animal shelter.
"Huey.. as we talked, I've been thinking.. why don't you stay for a couple of weeks? I can help you find a job, you can have your own room since I live alone. How does that sound?"
"I, uh.. that would, um.. be great. Wow, I honestly can't thank you enough, Gina. I promise, once I get on my feet, I'll pay you rent, and everything else. I just need some time."
"Huey, listen, you can stay here for free as long as you want. When you make your own money, you can spend it on whatever you like, you don't have to pay me back for anything. I'm just glad I can help you out." She smiled as she got up. She quickly leaped onto me and gave me a big hug. "You looked teary-eyed." She said into my shoulder. I laughed a little as I wrapped my arms around her.
"Thank you, Gina... this means a lot to me."
And that was the day, our friendship was made.
I walked into the kitchen to find Gina making dinner. This girl knows how to cook. I crept behind her, hoping she wouldn't hear me. "Gina." I said loudly, causing her to jump. "Damn you." she said as she hit my arm. I chuckled as I sat on the counter beside the stove. "Why are you making so much? Is somebody coming over or something?" I asked as I picked at the food. She sucked her teeth as she continued to cook. I've noticed over the years that she does that quite a lot.
"I told you my parents and my brother are coming from New Orleans. They should be here anytime soon. Could you set the table, please?" I nodded my head and got off of the counter.
"Y'know, I've been here for two years and I've never met your brother before." I grabbed five plates from the cabinet and set them all on the table. Gina shook her head as she came over with a small pot of black beans. "Michael is something else. He takes after his perverted father. Thank God we don't have the same dad."
"I used to know somebody named Micheal.. we were really close friends, but then he moved with his mom.." I stopped mid way into my sentence. It couldn't be. "Wait a minute. Do people call your brother Caesar?" I asked.
Gina put yet another plate down on the table. "Yeah... you know him?"
"No. Fucking. Way. He was my best friend back then.. until he moved to New Orleans. He never told me he had a sister." I placed the forks, spoons, and knifes around the table.
"As childish as this sounds, my dad, and Michael's dad didn't like one another, so, they kept Michael and I away from each other.. until my mom got full custody of him when I was twelve. I miss that fool." Gina continued to fill the table with food, including jerk chicken, ackee and saltfish, rice, Jamaican beef patties, fried plantains, all different types of Jamaican food was put onto that table. Gina was half Jamaican, part Cambodian and part Filipino.. crazy combination, right?
"I still can't believe that Caesar is your br-" I was cut off mid way into my sentence when the doorbell ring, and the door soon opened. "Way to keep your door locked, Gina." I turned around to see Gina's parents, Mr. and Mrs. de la Vega.. and shortly after.. Caesar. He stopped right infront of the door as he looked at me, "Huey?!" he asked. His facial expression went from confused, to excited in a matter of seconds. He quickly shut the door and ran over to me, hugging me tightly. "I missed you so much, bruh. I'm sorry for not keeping in touch." He soon let me go. "It's fine, man. I know things were pretty rough then, and, I'm not going to hold you for it."
"Wait.. wait.. why are you here?" Caesar asked. "Are you two, like a.. thing? Awww damn, lemme find out you've been messing with my sister." He smirked as he nudged my arm. "Oh, Michael, leave the poor boy alone," Mrs. de la Vega said as she came over to me and gave me a hug, "Hi baby, how are you?" she asked. "I'm doing a lot better than before. Thanks."
"Guys, c'mon to the table. The food is done. You guys can catch up while you eat." Gina said, putting the last bit of food on the table.
"You ain't gone even say hi to your big bro? Wow, I gotchu, G."
"Hi, Ceez, now, go sit down."
"Wait, so, they just kicked you out, just because you were going through a hard time, with losing Jazzy and all, and your Granddad found weed in your room? Something just isn't adding up." I nodded my head.
"But, weed? Seriously?! It's not like it was cocaine or somethin' heavy like that. Wow, I didn't think Mr. Freeman was that cold... and stupid."
I shook my head as I reclined on the couch. We had just gotten done dinner, Gina went to the store to get, who knows what, and Mr. and Mrs. de la Vega were upstairs.
"It had to have been something more to that. Riley smoked weed all the time.. I just don't know why he would kick his own grandson out..."
"Have you talked to him?"
I shook my head. I haven't talked to my Granddad, Riley, Jazmine, Cindy nor Hiro in the past two years, which, as harsh as this may sound, I'm perfectly fine with that.. they want to abandon me, that's cool.
"Well, do you want to talk to him?"
I looked at Caesar weird. Why was he asking all of these questions? "Well, uh, I mean.. if I got the chance to talk to him, I would." As Caesar began to talk, the front door opened.. there stood Gina, and two people who I would have never of thought to see again.
I really hope you guys enjoyed this story! This is one of my newest ones on Wattpad. :)
