Black cat
Walk by
Ignore the sign without a care.
Rat-tat
Black sky
A bit of drizzle in the air.
A penance for his many sins:
Professorhood for Mr. Binns.
Rain, rain
Cold, dark
Persistent like the locust plague.
Splashed pain,
Bold, stark,
Demanding, firm, but dimming vague.
A multitude of past regrets—
In teaching only he forgets.
Drip, land,
Drop, drive,
It used to be so safe and warm.
Lost hand,
Swan dive,
All washed away inside the storm.
To heaven on to face his lies?
He stumbles backward, drones, and dies.
