Crystal Lake

Chapter 1

The time was ticking by as the sky was getting darker. Caysori looked to the library door for her elder sister, Carme. Catching her reflection in the mirrored visor she fixed a piece of her red hair that had gone astray. She stared at herself a few moments looking into the green cat eyes that got her so many complements.

Two yellow glowing orbs were in the woods that she hadn't noticed before. It was completely dark and almost time for the library to close. A knocking on the window scared her back. Carme got into the car smiling to tell her sister of the cute guys in the library, without noticing her sisters scare. At the gas station Caysori stood at the pump while Carme went to pay for gas. The hair stood up on the back of her neck. Looking around she had the same feeling she had at the library.

Suddenly she spotted the familiar glowing orbs in the woods opposite her. A thought came to her that wasn't her own. It was more of a promise of something greater than the world she was in now. Looking around the gas station she saw more of the glowing orbs. Carme came out to the rescue saying she could pump. On the way home Caysori saw an occasional street light, but no orbs. They had her tangled in knots with a nervous feeling.

It was pitch black when they arrived home. Not wanting to stay out in the night any longer than necessary Caysori ran all the up the path into the house. Her family consisted of her mother Peri and her older sister Carme. Their father had left them at an early age, were he was forgettable. She marched upstairs to her humble abode to finish the discarded government homework on her bed. Finally finishing the gov homework she pulled out the dreaded english assignment.

Nodding awake looking at the clock to see that it was 4 a.m. and she wasn't done with her paper yet. Going to her computer she pulled Windows Word up and started typing her paper:

The Trial By Franz Kafka

The story line while confusing to me must make since to others. Joseph wakes up one day to be accused of a crime he didn't commit and which is never revealed to him-

A sound at the window caught her attention. Peering out the curtains she caught sight of those familiar glowing orbs staring right back at her, except this time it had a whole body along with it. The window raised on its own efforts as she backed toward the far wall.

A long masculine leg came through followed be the rest of the body. He wore black pants and a long black cape that flowed around his shoulders. His pale hand reached to remove the cape hat. The beauty of the stranger she saw was unbelievable.
