This story is for my best friend Haley, aka FutureSinger99. She had a similar occurrence in real life.

"Bones, just play one game."

"I don't understand the point to playing baseball."

"It's basketball, Bones."

"Well, I don't want to play."

"Just one game Bones? Please?" He used his charm smile on her. He knew she was powerless against his charm smile.

"Okay, one game."

Brennan threw the basketball at the hoop. Booth caught it before it could go in the hoop.

"Booth, that's not fair. You're cheating."

"That's how you play Bones. We're supposed to stop the other person's shot from going in the hoop."

"You are four inches taller than me. You have an advantage."

Booth threw the ball at the hoop, and his shot went right in.

"Booth, you have prior experience. That also gives you an advantage."

"Bones, you are just jealous because you aren't winning."

"No, I'm not. I don't even understand this game."

"Well Bones, you throw the ball at the hoop and if it goes in you score a point."

Pretty soon, Bones was getting really good at the game.

Booth went up really close to Bones and he took the ball. He threw it towards his garage. He didn't want to play anymore anyway. Bones was winning.

"Booth, why are we quitting? I was just getting good."

"I know," Booth grumped. "You were beating me."

"Were you afraid you were going to lose?"

"No."

"I know you're lying."

He knew she would know he was lying. She couldn't read other people, but she could read him like a book.

He went over and hugged her.

She hugged him back. She knew this was one of their "guy hugs".

She was also pleased with how his tank top exposed his biceps and triceps. She had never noticed how strong he really was until she felt his muscles during this "guy hug".

After about two minutes, he relaxed his arms uncase she wanted to go. She obviously wanted to stay, because she didn't leave his arms for another five minutes.

Who the hell was he kidding. That was not a "guy hug". That was something more.

Of course, he wouldn't ever admit that to anybody. For right now, he was content with partners and friends.
