I apologize; I seem to have strayed from thoughts. This is meant to be very short and sad. In the Bioshock series, I have found myself in love with the relationship of Little Sisters and Big Daddies. When I finally obtained Bioshock 2, I was overjoyed that my character was a Big Daddy. I always felt that I would protect Little Sisters no matter what, which made me upset at the end of the first game. This is an in-between of Rapture before Sophia Lamb's reign. I have not read the book so I apologize if I go against anything. I am just a fan. I hope you enjoy this short sad story of Cassandra and Alexander. I do not own Bioshock.

There was a groan and two loud knocks then a little girl climbed out of the decorated vent towards the monster. She carried a large needle and a doll. The monster picked her up and at her command, began to move.

After a while, the girl announced that she smelled something; the monster didn't understand or truly hear what she had said, but followed her directions. They came to a corpse in a deserted area of the underwater city and he let the child down.

"Look Mr. B, an angel!" she exclaimed as she pointed at the corpse. The monster, still not understanding, stood in silence, watching for unwanted onlookers. She inserted the needle and pulled it out in various areas of its torso, continuing for a long time. When she was finished, a deformed splicer woman ran towards them. The child screamed as the woman lunged for her, but just then the monster stopped the woman mid-leap with a large drill, activated it, and threw her to the ground mercilessly.

The child clung to the monster's leg and he picked her up. "You always save me from the monsters, Daddy." He started walking back to the vent she had come from thinking that she had had enough excitement for the moment. But, as he was putting her back in, she started to thrash about lightly and looked at his helmet.

"Daddy?" she said quietly. "What do you look like?"

The monster hesitated, looked around then set her partially in the vent. He removed his helmet slowly, and set it aside deciding to not put it back on. The girl stared in awe at his face. He looked nothing like the splicers, but like the man she had met when she lived on the surface. He reached his hand out toward her and she winced, but let him touch her head. After a few seconds, the girl's eyes stopped glowing and she looked back at him happily.

"Thank you, Daddy."

The man smiled and started to turn around when he was shot through the head. He fell to the ground with a thud. "Mr. Bubbles! NO!" the child cried loudly, she began to climb out when he shook his head weakly. He had small tears forming in his eyes. Reluctantly, she understood and began to climb back quickly, leaving the doll behind.

"I'll find you again, Daddy. Just wait. I'll come back and protect you." With that, she was gone.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed this. After all, I do write these in class due to unnecessary work and such. Please review and favorite! It is completed, but if you ask I may write either a prequel or a sequel. I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Remember, I went off of nothing for this. It is not accurate to the actual games or book, but was from my own thoughts of the relationship between a human Big Daddy named Alexander and a surface originated Little Sister named Cassandra. This was also a writing exercise. Thank you again!
