It had been ten years since Alvin had last seen her. Her auburn hair floating freely in the wind. Her crystal blue eyes staring back into his own blue pools.

Brittany Miller was her name, the biggest star in high school. More like the biggest diva.

The Chipettes had flown to Vermont for college, and had seemingly started a new life there. They hadn't called once in 4 years, that 4 soon turned into 10 years, 10 long years.

Even Simon had lost touch with Jeanette, and they had always been close.

Alvin looked back at his alarm clock, the bright red numbers reading 2:46am burned his eyes in the dark. He'd been up all night, not able to sleep. Now it was Valentine's Day; it wasn't like he was counting down, he had no valentine.

He didn't want to admit it, but he missed her. A lot.

Alvin rolled over and shut his eyes, only to see Brittany fill his vision once again.

When the alarm went off at 7:00, Alvin found it almost impossible to get out of bed. He couldn't stop thinking about her.

When he finally made his way downstairs, Simon and Theodore were already eating breakfast.

"Morning Alvin! Happy Valentine's Day! I made your favourite, chocolate chip pancakes." Theodore giddily pointed to a plate stacked high with fluffy, golden pancakes.

Alvin smirked at his baby brother. "Thanks Theo."

Simon eyed his older sibling. "You look tired. Did you sleep at all?"

Alvin turned to Simon. "Yes I did actually."

Simon chuckled at the smug grin on his brother's face.

"So Simon, do you have a Valentine?" Alvin swayed side to side in front of his brother.

"No Alvin I don't and can we please not talk about that particular subject?"

Alvin looked taken aback at Simon's tone, yes Simon would get annoyed with him, but he sounded really serious this time.

"Why? Is it because you're still in love with Jeanette?" Alvin instantly regretted asking that question when he saw the look on Simon's face.

Simon got up from the table and went upstairs, shutting his bedroom door behind him.

"You didn't have to say that Alvin." Theodore crossed him arms in front of his chubby chest.

Alvin sighed, "I know Theo I didn't mean to. I always forget Jeanette broke up with him to go to college. "

Theodore then got up and left the room, leaving behind his half eaten meal.

Alvin guessed they were both missing the girls.

Just as much as he was.

As Alvin's day progressed he found himself thinking about Brittany more and more, to the point where he thought he was really seeing her, and hugged a tree.

At 6:00pm Dave asked Alvin to go to the store and get some potatoes for dinner. Since Alvin's car was in the shop getting fixed, he decided it would just be easier to take a taxi.

When he got in the taxi there was a woman sitting next to him. She was dressed in a black coat, a short skirt and boots. She had auburn hair. Kind of reminded him of Brittany.

"Alvin?"

The girl who was once a stranger, looked over from the other side of the taxi. Alvin looked back at her. There they were, crystal blue eyes, eyes he thought he would never see again.

"Oh my gosh, Brittany?"

She smiled from ear to ear and jumped in delight, embracing him in a tight hug.

"Oh I've missed you so much. We just got here last week to visit Ms Miller. I'm calling the girls, we have to see you all tonight!"

Alvin let a small tear trickle down the left side of his face, onto her shoulder.

Maybe this Valentine's Day didn't turn out so bad after all.
