This was pretty much just inspired by the fact I had no idea what Mark's Bar Mitzvah had to do with Maureen taking his camera in the New Year's scene of the movie.
…and I still have no idea.
Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own RENT or any of it's characters.

Maureen sat in the loft one day. She lazily flipped through a magazine wishing she had something to do. Benny was out with his new girlfriend Alison, Roger was at a sound check, and Collins was at a class.
Hmm, she thought. I wonder what Mark is doing.
The very bored drama queen skipped out to the main room and found Mark sitting at the table fiddling with his camera.
"Hi, Marky!" The now hyper Maureen exclaimed.
"Hey, Maureen," the film maker said, not looking up from his work.
"Watcha doin'?"
"Editing some film."
"Don't you ever get bored with that thing?" Maureen asked, reaching for the camera.
"Hey!" Mark pulled the camera out of her reach. "How many times have I told you? Don't touch it!"
"Why not?" Maureen wined.
"You'll break it!"
"No I won't!"
"Okay," Mark said. "I'll let you use it on…umm…my Bar Mitzvah!"
"Cool!" The clueless Maureen skipped over to the door. "I'm gonna go out for a while. Bye, Marky!"
Halfway down the stairs Maureen bumped into Collins. "Hey, Collins! Guess what? Marky said I could use his camera on his Bar Mitzvah!"
Collins looked at her questionably. "Maureen, do you even know what a Bar Mitzvah is?"
"Well, no. But it can't be too far away, right?"
Collins chuckled. "A Bar Mitzvah is what happens when a Jewish boy becomes a man."
"Ohhhhhh!" Maureen was fascinated. "When does THAT happen?"
"When he turns thirteen. Sorry, Mo, you missed it."
"…WHAT?!"

So there you have it. I'm a terrible writer, but review anyways?
