Hey people this is just a story that came to me when I was really bored and hanging out with my family

- NOT IN THAT ORDER! -

My family is so big and strange that they actually help me write, we all have something strange to say.

my three year old cousin's babbling to me gave me this idea so... read on! :)

DISCLAIMER: I am nowhere near awesome enough to come up with a series like Alex Rider. Anthony Horowitz is.

He had given up the spy life, but it had yet to give up him.

There was a clock, ticking. It was mocking him as the deadline crept closer.

He could see him. The distance between them could be closed with a few strides and then he would be there at his side. He could be there for him- something he had failed to do in the past. Something he had a feeling he was doing right then.

Alex was in America, a long way from home. He was walking hand in hand with Sabina, laughing as if they hadn't anything to ever worry about again. But, as Alex later discovered, there is always something to worry about. You may not know it; but there will always be something.

He froze.

Sabina was still there chatting and laughing animatedly but he had found what it was to be worried about in this seemingly perfect new world where he had left behind MI6 and his family's legacy. Where he had left behind all his previous torment. Where he had left his best friend Tom.

A hand descended on his shoulder causing him to jump despite his spy instinct telling him something was wrong, despite his training. Something – no someone- was going to hurt him.

"I'm sorry are you Alex rider?" words he had heard way too often circled his mind. Doing cart wheels and flips across his memory. A thousand different faces, each speaking the same words flashed before his eyes as he looked up into a vaguely familiar face.

One he felt he should know.

One that, if he had realised, he would have refused to follow: to answer any questions from.

One that no-one would be able to make him forget: the hurt, the tears and the overwhelming sadness.

If only he had known, he wouldn't have spoken his next words quite so freely.

"Yes, but who are you?"

Sorry it's a bit short but tell me whether to continue- if I get enough POSITIVE feedback I'll continue.

thanks for reading!

review and I will personally send you a bunny so that you can help him dominate the world! xx
