Peace
Pythagoras wondered if Jason understood his theories on triangles.
He also wondered if Jason would kiss him.
He was slumped over his desk as he wondered this, trying to cope in the blazing Atlantean heat. Unfortunately, the heat was getting to his head and it was becoming harder and harder to concentrate on his beloved triangles. Or maybe it was the hunger getting to him. Still very low on money, Jason, Pythagoras and Hercules barely had enough money to pay for the house, never mind eat. The mathematician hadn't eaten in three days and he was weak from hunger, clouding his mind and senses. Which mean he couldn't concentrate on his triangles. Just then, the door banged and Jason stumbled in, shirtless, carrying something in his rolled-up shirt. But that wasn't what Pythagoras really cared about right now because Jason was shirtless and the blonde boy's hunger-crazed mind began to play tricks on him. Triangles. The dark-haired man's torso was covered in them. That was when he wondered if Jason understood his theories. Then the hero shot the boy a dazzling smile and the mathematician wondered if he would kiss him.
"Look what I managed to get!" Jason enthused, unrolling his shirt to reveal something that Pythagoras had been dreaming about. A loaf of bread. Leaping from his chair, the triangles-enthusiast tried to run over to Jason, but his starved body was too weak and he staggered straight into him.
"How… where? We're broke…" murmured the blonde boy as the hero to steady him one-handedly.
"Steady, Pyth… I did the baker a favour; he gave me the bread in return." Pythagoras was too hungry to care what favour Jason had done for the baker, only that he had the food as soon as possible.
"Hercules. We-"
"He's already eaten, and he's with Medusa," Jason laughed softly, pulling Pythagoras to sit back at the table. The mathematician grinned giddily as the hero broke into the soft bread, offering the boy a chunk. They ate the still-warm bread in mere minutes, barely chewing as they gobbled it down.
"Jay…" mumbled Pythagoras, accidentally using the pet name that he had for Jason aloud.
"Mmm?" The hero looked up from the plate he was currently licking clean.
"Thank you." The dark-haired man merely grinned and clasped Pythagoras's shoulder.
"Don't thank me; you were starving. I'm… I'm just very glad you got the food in time…" Suddenly, the hero looked worried, pulling the mathematician into his arms. Still weak, the blonde boy collapsed against him and so Jason scooped him up like a child, holding him tightly.
"It's okay, I've got you…"
"I still feel weak... b-but you can put me down; I need to get on with my triangles…"
"Explain them to me." The request was so sudden Pythagoras floundered before answering Jason.
"S-sure…" He sat back at his desk, waving his hands over the paper as he explained his thought processes to the hero. As he trails off, the mathematician raised his head to look at Jason and before he knew it, soft lips were being pressed to his own. Suddenly, everything in the world was right and Pythagoras was cupping Jason's cheeks and the boy was pulling him closer, kissing harder until…
They broke apart, gasping for breath and Jason rested his forehead on Pythagoras's.
"You're so damned cute when you get flustered," muttered the hero, causing a faint laugh to escape the boy.
"Oh, shut up." Then Pythagoras was kissing Jason and his heart finally blossomed with peace.
