"Burn this after you memorise it," Mad-Eye Moody growled, thrusting a piece of parchment at Tonks, upon which was written the words 'The Order of the Phoenix can be found at number 12, Grimmauld Place' in a spiky, slanted script that she recognized as Dumbledore's.

Tonks followed Moody's orders, and when the flames engulfed the letters, he said, "Now think about what you've just memorised."

As the word Grimmauld ran through her head, she gasped because another house had squished it self in between numbers 11 and 13, pushing the Muggle houses aside.

"Wow," she commented.

"Well, don't just stand there, follow me inside."

"Sorry, Mad-Eye."

Obediently, Tonks followed the old ex-Auror into the dark house, after he tapped the door, unlocking at least five locks, a bolt and a chain.

"Be quiet," he hissed as he flicked his wand, a row of old gas lamps flared into life so Tonks could see the interior of the house, putting her in mind of extremely Dark wizards.

Moody led her towards a door, but with a deafening clatter Tonks tripped over something, and a set of floor-length curtains opened, revealing a woman shrieking obscenities, which Tonks learnt a few profanities from.

As she picked up what appeared to be a troll's leg umbrella stand, apologising profusely, Mad-Eye and another man who emerged from behind the door wrenched the curtains shut and silenced all the shrieking portraits.

"Nymphadora Tonks, meet our resident innocent convicted murderer, Sirius Black."

Upon recognising the man, Tonks was so shocked that she reverted to her natural appearance – almost a mirror of Bellatrix Lestrange, but with light brown hair, she screamed and stars appeared before her eyes as she fell to the floor, and Sirius, thinking her to be her aunt, yelled out in alarm.

All the noise set off the woman again, which woke Tonks from her fainting spell. As Mad-Eye and Sirius shut up the portraits, Tonks realised that the dreadful woman was an unfortunately realistic portrait of one of her many Dark relatives.

Mad-Eye literally dragged Tonks to the kitchen, and dropped the young Auror into a seat at the table.

"Nymphadora Tonks is our new member?" Sirius asked, disbelievingly, as Tonks asked, "Sirius Black is here and innocent?"

Moody rolled both his eyes and growled "Look, I don't care if you believe he is a mass-murderer or you believe that she is a freak of nature, Black, but you're both part of the Order, now."

Both ignored him. And then –

"Mum always said that Uncle Sirius was framed."

"You never told me that your new recruit was my cousin's daughter, Mad-Eye."

"You're related?"

For once, Mad-Eye was not in the know.

"Notice the two most recent burns on the family tree: myself, and Nymphadora's mother."

"DON'T CALL ME NYMPHADORA!!!"

And dear Walburga Black started ranting again.
