Bricriu lived a long life with very little emotional ties and he'd usually preferred that. The mortal world had new surprises with each passing decade and its abundance of bodies just waiting to be possessed were too much for him to resist. He never cared for anyone getting in between him and his various personal entertainments. Though one day, someone did—a little duckling of a girl—and if it hadn't been for her and her constant prying, he would have been free to go about his merry way. He would have been better off.

However, he just happened to wonder off and on why he ever tried to leave her behind in the first place? It was so strange for him to feel something related to fondness towards another living being after years of living independently, and towards a mortal maiden no less! But in all honesty, she proved herself to be the most interesting playmate he had found in centuries. Why couldn't he have stayed with her? They surely had fun together. He would've even allowed her to choose what vessel he could have taken since he really had no major preference, and she had plenty of them orbiting around her day after day.

And despite what she'd think, they were already linked. Their fates were woven together rather too tightly to unwind. So he returned for her again and again; as if it was somehow his responsibility to keep that promise to her. In turn, she promised to wait and be ready for his next arrival. Ready to gamble. Ready to fight for her power and her moralities.

Then, she had gone and stifled his hope of continuing their little games when she sucessfully trapped him inside that cursed digital disk of hers.

He actually missed seeing the fires of determination spark behind her dark eyes while she attempted to best him.

He was no human. He was no ordinary Fae either. Aye, Spunkies like him had many tricks to spare, and should never be miscalculated. He'd definitely liberate himself eventually. The gods knew he simply had the time to scheme and contemplate in order to do so. In one creative method or another, he'd make his grand comeback. He'd make his Little Duck play with him again.

After all, rules were meant to be broken...but promises weren't.

Since I had personally found Bricriu's relationship with Fiona a bit fascinating, I believed Disney could have put more depth there. Their interactions certainly had the potential to branch out more than they allowed it to. The series did leave me wondering what would happen between them in the future after Fi saved him to her floppy disk.
