Ciel couldn't sleep from all the thoughts running through his head. All night he tossed and turned irritated and frustrated from the loss of sleep. He's been hearing nothing but voices whispering scary thoughts and old hurtful memories...scaring him, giving him nightmares for so long. Nightmares that made him feel like they were never ending. Every time he would wake up finding himself in a different dream. Dream after dream after dream, like an endless hallway full of painful memories and threats. He felt his heart racing quickly and he sweat out of every pore. He gripped the sheets of his bed as he dreamt of another fire, one with Sebastian and everyone he loves...He reached out his hand for them only to see them slowly fade away forever. He screamed himself awake loudly, his heart still racing with tears running down his face. He looked over at the small music box set open across his bed. It played a soft lullaby, he sat there in the dark listening to the music from the lullaby..letting it flow through his mind..he was feeling as if their was creatures, evil dark creatures invading his privacy, thoughts, mind. He felt like they were reaching out to him, tugging on him. He shivered in fear and brought his knees up to his chest as he just stared at the empty space in the dark, imagining monsters that weren't really there. He shook his head and cried slightly, "stop...please...just...go away…stop...please…!"
It wasn't long before Sebastian busted through the door and rushing to his master, "master...are you alright?"
Ciel sniffled and looked up at Sebastian, "se-Sebastian" he reached his hand out leaning a bit over the edge of the side of his bed, he almost fell when Sebastian caught him.
"Master?" Sebastian spoke softly, he looked down at his master in confusion as to what he was doing.
Ciel fell into sebastian's arms, he gripped the butlers tailcoat tightly as he cried a bit in his chest. He sniffled, "Sebastian" he didn't want to say anything more, he couldn't. He was just scared to lose everyone again but most terrified of losing Sebastian.
Sebastian could tell his master needed a hug, he embraced him in his arms and sat on the bed. Holding him closely to his chest not saying word.
So they sat there, just listening to the music box play its lullaby..the soft, sad, slow, scary melody that Ciel seemed to be in love with. A sound which he could now not live without.
