A/N: Okay decided to give Shelley a last name, because the movie doesn't and she needed one.
At a table outside John Smickel, Robbie Leffley and their new friend and transfer student, Jeremy Conlin sat eating lunch.
Jeremy started describing the hilarious scene that occurred in the Physical Ed that day.
"So, we were playing dodge ball and that kid, Eddie dared me to nail, that weird looking girl, with the big hair, Shirley, no that' not it..."
John's eyes went huge, "Shelly? Shelley Danes."
"Yeah, that's it. Anyway she went down like a sack of potatoes, clutching her stomach, it was hysterical."
John and Robbie exchanged looks of horror, and then turned back to Jeremy, "Please, please tell me you're joking. Tell me you did not nail Shelley Danes with a dodge ball."
"Yeah, so what? It was just a little joke. Everyone was laughing, well except for her friend that's in the class with her. This geeky one with the weird hair. What is it will you people and the weird hair," he said as he rubbed his hand through his own slicked back, greasy mop of hair.
John looked incredulous at his friend's utter stupidity, "So not only did you hit her, you laughed at her and you did it all in front of Clifford."
"Yeah, so?" Jeremy replied as he began shuffling food in his mouth at warp speed.
"Do you," John started, "HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE?"
"Uh, no."
Robbie started to talk this time, since John looked like he was about to have a coronary, "Shelley Danes is Ricky Linderman'sgirl. You know Ricky Linderman, the big hulking guy we pointed out on your first day. The one we told you to never ever piss off, which included not picking on his friends and most importantly not his girlfriend."
Jeremy's face was ashen, "Linderman'sgirl? I attacked his, oh my god! He's is going to kick my ass."
"Kick your ass?" Robbie said, "Oh no, he kicked the ass of the guy who insulted Shelley. You physically attacked her. He's just going to kill you."
"And probably us!" John announced, "We're guilty by association."
"I got to get out of here. I gotta find somewhere to hide."
Suddenly John and Robbie's eyes widened in fear, "Too late," they said.
Jeremy turned to look across the quad where Ricky Linderman sat. He was standing up and staring down at his girlfriend, who was attempting to get him to sit by tugging on his arm. With little effort, he carefully dislodged himself and turned his gaze right at Jeremy.
Jeremy turned back to his friends and uttered one word, "Run."
