"Don't you dare!" screamed Rosalie, running away from Alice.

"Oh c'mon! Please?" whined Alice, running after Rose, scissors in hand. They have been running around the house for twenty minutes no. They ran into the living room, where the family was watching them, entertained.

"Rose, honey, could you just let her cut your hair? I can't hear the TV." Emmett stated in a bored voice. Rosalie shot a glare at him and continued to sprint, Alice on her tail. Bella rolled her eyes at Emmett's comment and laid down on Edward's lap. Edward began to stroke her head once again.

'Why won't Rose just give up and let Alice be Alice?' thought Emmett, though he said no more. 'Whoever thought he actually thought?' Thought Edward, smirking as he did. Jasper looked up at Edward.

"What's so funny?" he asked, confused.

"Oh, nothing." Edward shrugged. Then they all heard a crash in the kitchen.

"Oh NO! Please don't say that was my china!" Yelled Esme. She stood up and ran over to the kitchen. Alice was on top of Rosalie, scissors by her hair.

"Esme!" dry sobbed Rosalie, "Please don't let her!"

"Don't listen to her!" yelled Alice, "Rosalie is delirious by our crash! She doesn't know what she is saying! I KNOW she wants her hair cut short! I know she does!"

Rosalie and Alice glanced at Esme, wondering what she would do. Esme stood up straight, to her full height.

"Alice, get off Rosalie. You are not to cut her hair. Do you understand me?" warned Esme. Now it was Alice's turn to 'sob'.

"But Esme! I REALLY want to! I just got a book on great hairstyles I would like to try! And Rosalie's hair is perfect for them!" She put her head in her hands in denial. Esme shifted uncomfortably. Rosalie shot a warning glance at her. She vigorously shook her head, knowing that Esme was having second thoughts. Esme opened her mouth to speak.

"NO!" shrieked Rosalie and she darted from the room and into her own room upstairs. Everyone watched the display quietly.

"I better go check on her," mumbled Emmett. He pulled himself up and walked upstairs to see his wife.

"And I better go check on Alice. She is probably still moping in the kitchen. Maybe I could talk some sense into her." Jasper glided over to the kitchen, where Alice was curled up in a ball. Esme had left before she could change her mind.

"Good luck," grumbled Edward. He resumed caressing Bella's hair. But now Bella was distracted. Bella looked up at Edward and frowned. His eyes grew worried.

"What's wrong?" he asked, concerned, like usual.

"It's just," started Bella, "I don't get what all the fuss was about! I mean, why wouldn't Rosalie let Alice cut her hair? I mean, it will grow right back." Edward chuckled.

"Silly Bella. We are vampires. We don't grow! If she cut her hair short, it will always be short! The only person in this house that Alice would be able to cut their hair is you! Your hair grows back! That is the advantage of being human." Alice zoomed in from the kitchen, her eyes growing bright.

"Oh can I Bella? Oh can I??" Bella glared at Edward angrily.

"Nice going," She murmured. Edward chuckled again, and resumed reading newspaper quietly to himself.
