Sup? I just thought I'd write a quick one-shot about Perry. This is set in some random day in summer, when the kids are still young, before the movie. Hope you like it!
Beep!
Beep!
Beep!
Perry woke up immediately hearing his wrist watch communicator go off. Making sure no one was around, he quickly put on his hat and activated it. Major Monograms face appeared on the screen.
"There you are Agent P. Doofenshmirtz is up to his old tricks again. Report to HQ immediately for briefing. Monogram out."
Perry saluted him and jumped up from where he had been lying on the couch in the living room. He briefly glanced out the window, seeing Phineas and Ferb looking over some blueprints. Their friend Isabella came into the backyard and as usual, asked what they were doing. Just then Perry heard a noise coming from behind him. He hid his hat away and quickly put on the expression of a mindless platypus. Candace came into view and burst into the backyard, yelling at her brothers that she was going to bust them this time for sure. Perry almost laughed. Even though he was gone for most of the day, he knew well enough that every single day Candace always tried to bust her brothers, to no avail.
Perry walked out into the backyard, still in his cover form. Luckily, no one noticed him, so he was easily able to slip behind the tree, put his hat back on, and activate a secret entrance in the ground. However, he paused for a second, peering around the tree at his host family. Phineas was busy happily explaining his project to Candace, who was looked very ticked off. Ferb was looking through his tool box, and Isabella was staring at Phineas dreamily.
Of course Perry knew about everything that went on around here. That was part of his job as a secret agent. He had to keep his host family safe from all the dangers he faced everyday. If he could, he would tell Phineas and Ferb in a heartbeat. They would love being agents, and they were geniuses, so they would be a great help to the agency. However, he knew well enough that if his cover was ever blown, he would have to be relocated, and he couldn't even imagine having to leave. There had been some very close calls in the past, including the boys actually finding his hideout, but he had always managed to fix everything.
One day, he hoped that Phineas and Ferb would be able to help him. They would make an amazing team, better than any the agency had ever had before. Maybe when they decided to start hiring humans, Perry could suggest the boys. But for now, everything he did had to be kept secret. Though it pained him to hide have to hide his entire life from them, it was to protect them.
All of these thoughts went through Perry's mind in a matter of seconds. He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Candace yelling loudly. He saw her storm back inside and pull out her cell phone, no doubt to call her mother to once again unsuccessfully bust the boys.
Perry smiled to himself. Yep, just another ordinary day. And he thinking back on it later, he realized that he wouldn't change a thing.
