Hey, guys. So, uh… I'm planning to make a sequel to Heartbeat, but I don't have that much time, so instead, I decided to try my hand at a Fantasy story. Hopefully, if I get positive feedback, I'll continue. It might contain more than Fantasy later on, but that's why it's Fantasy/General. So… oh! Time to start =)
Introduction
In the whole of Lyoko, the land of dragons and men, and dryads and talking animals, there was one group of friends that was closer than any other. This group was full of people who stuck out slightly, who you could pick out in a crowd… people who weren't exactly normal.
The eldest was Yumi. She caught the eye of many a young man, but she was interested in not a single one. Her grandmother was a dryad – more specifically, a Willow-Girl, and Yumi had some dryad blood as well. It was evident in her voice, the soft tones of a Willow-Girl, her hair, which floated behind her when there was no wind, and strangely, her footsteps. Most people have footsteps are quiet, yet heavy, but hers were silent and light as a feather.
Slightly younger than Yumi was Ulrich. His father was a famed craftsman, and he had grown up testing swords and stirrups and saddles. As a result, he was quick on his feet from climbing on and off horses, and his fingers were nimble from twirling many a sword. In fact, once he graduated from the Warrior's Academy, he planned to visit other lands and solve their problems, including the land of Kadic, which had for many years suffered an attack of strange bugs called Xanas. He had a way with horses, and, to be frank, actually liked clearing out the dung from his mother's stables (he tested the horse riding equipment on his mother's ponies).
Now, Ulrich's best friend was the oddest in the group, and in fact, his name was Odd. What was interesting about him, was the fact that two weeks before he was due to be born, his mother was attacked by a gang of rabid Italian cats calling themselves the Mafia. The shock induced an early birth, which is quite normal. The strange thing was that some cat DNA had mixed with Odd's, so he had been born with purple cat ears. Purple became his favourite colour (he dyed some of his hair purple), and as he grew up, he started showing more cat tendencies – he was a skilled climber, could extend and retract claws, and on his eleventh birthday, he woke up with a tail. Ironically, he had a pet dog, and the dog would defend Odd with his life. The dog was called Kiwi, by the way.
Second youngest in the group was a lad called Jeremie. Now, it's time for a fun fact. In other lands, they used the boring box-and-screen type of computer. But Lyoko was much more sophisticated – they used floating, touch-screen interfaces, and Jeremie knew his way around them like the back of his hand. He also preferred spending his time around lakes and mountains than woods, saying that they were more peaceful.
Now, the youngest member of the group was Aelita, and she would always stick out, because her hair was pink. Not dyed bubble-gum pink, and not streaked with pink - just plain, natural pink. She also had magic abilities, which she discovered at one of her birthday parties. She had tried to blow out the candles on her cake, but had ended up turning the cake into a solid lump of ice. After this discovery, she had joined the School of Magic, and had rather good grades.
These friends had many adventures, and in this book, I shall record them…
Well, there ya go. Mah first attempt at Fantasy. This is only the intro – there shall be more!
