After reading Brinatello's one-shot, Olivia's Pep Talk on DeviantArt, I got the impression for my own fic, also taking place during Ratigan's song.

Having Olivia's father get kidnapped by a bat on her birthday was the worst day Olivia had ever had! Luckily, help had come from an elderly gentleman, who returned from Afghanistan and a reluctant at first famous mouse detective, Basil of Baker Street, who knew Fidget very well for working for his archenemy, Professor Ratigan.

Relieved, Olivia dozed off on the carpet when Basil gently picked her up and set her down on his lap as he took a seat. "Cute, but I didn't want you sleeping where people walk, my dear," Basil whispered gently, "You could've been stepped on." As his way of comforting her, he patted and rubbed her back.

Sadly, it didn't last a while. The girl, who was sleeping on his lap, started kicking in her sleep. "Young lady, you mustn't kick!" Basil scolded in a whisper. His anger now turned to concern. He heard Olivia moan uneasily and witnessed tears from her eyes, down to his pants. She awoke with a start. "Mr. Basil! Help!" Olivia shouted as she clutched onto Basil's coat, holding on for dear life.

"Shh..." Basil hissed, "I'm right here. What's wrong?"

"I had a nightmare about my father being kidnapped by that ugly bat named Fidget," Olivia sobbed as Basil set her down and handed her a tissue.

"And that's why you're here, Miss Flaverlink," Basil said. At this point, Olivia was too sad to care when he said her last name wrong because she hadn't heard it being mispronounced, so she kept crying. "A good girl like you doesn't deserve to have her father kidnapped by that hideous creature that works for Ratigan."

Olivia stopped sobbing. "You're right about that, Mr. Basil," she said.

"It'll be over as soon as I catch that criminal," Basil said, dramatically facing away from her to the portrait of the rat.

"Which one?" Olivia inquired.

"Ratigan," Basil replied with anguish.

"Oh," Olivia said, nodding.

"Are you hungry?" Basil asked, changing the subject to fascinate her, "If so, there's a tray of cheese crumpets right next to you."

"Oh, thank you, Mr. Basil," said Olivia.

"My pleasure."

"Oh, and here's your cup of tea to go with it, dearie," Mrs. Judson said, offering her a tea cup.

With pleasure, Olivia sipped her tea and devoured her cheese crumpet. "Oh, and today's my birthday," she pointed out.

"Well, happy birthday, my dear," Dr. Dawson said.

"Yes, happy birthday," Basil said.

"Happy birthday, my dear," said Mrs. Judson.

Yet, the two mice detectives and the girl mouse dug in for more details, escaping from the girl's lips…

Author's note: Don't worry, they do find her father together in the end. This one's just a one-shot based on what I think happened during Ratigan's song sequence. As one guest reviewer mentioned in my fic, Christmas at Baker Street, "Plot holes are plot holes." That makes perfect sense.
