Davesprite was squakling down the street (Squawking whilst walking) and he looked at the TV store and saw his one true love in the TV. He smiled, remembering their times fondly. Dave smiled; his fellow avian friend was popular actor now, as he himself was internet famous.
Donald Duck was cleaning out his closet of shirts and coats. He was putting off the chore for a while now, afraid of what he might find in the depths of the closet. He remembered when Dave used to live with him. How happy they were, how they bonded over their habits of not wearing pants, the memories were flooding back to Donald now. Then, he saw the one thing he feared of finding. An orange jacket. Donald gazed upon the last thing he still had of Dave's.
Two years earlier.
It's an anime con, the one-time Davesprite doesn't feel strange about looking like a half bird half boy orange creamsicle. He feels at home and at ease as so many people congratulate him on such a fantastic cosplay. Wearing his favorite orange jacket, he felt so spiffy.
Donald duck feels the same way, as Dave. He can't imagine a time besides the cons were he feels truly comfortable. Being a talking duck can feel so strange in the world of humans.
The two met by chance, entering in a cosplay contest, both so sure they'd win because each one of their cosplays were so realistic, their confidence was astounding. As they names were called, it was a tie. Dave ironically looked over at Donald and decided on that day, he'd win the heart of his equal.
A month later
Dave and Donald were getting icecream together, mint chocolate chip to be specific, and they were both laughing and falling deeply in love. Quacks and Squawks filled the air as Dave was doing something very cool and ironic. Donald was captivated by Dave. He felt so special around him. Dave was a mystery to him, and he loved it.
Present time
Donald took the orange jacket and held it in his arms. He missed Dave so much it hurt. He missed the way Dave would try hide the fact that he was a total dork underneath his irony. Donald missed Dave's cool heart and he missed the warm hugs they shared. Donald missed Dave.
