CAUTION: this is depressing! ALSO! You have to read this while listening to the song "Slipped Away" by Avril Lavigne. I'm serious.

Disclaimer- I don't own Naruto- If I did, Sakura would already have little Uchiha babies. Geez.

Pit.

Pat.

Pit.

Pat.

The rain hit Sakura's window obnoxiously.

She ran her hands through her now long pink hair and leaned her head against it. The dew that had accumulated on the window rubbed against her wide forehead.

Outside, Sakura observed, everything was wet. The trees in front of her house drooped with a depressing sort of dampness and her lovely flowers that had once towered now lay on the ground.

She pulled her head back from the window. Sakura slipped the black sleeve of her kimono onto her pale shoulder.

After sliding on her black shoes she headed out the door without an umbrella. Rain slipped down her face and a choked sob escaped her lips.

Sakura walked down the cobblestone street slowly, letting the rain soak through her clothes. She approached a flower stall located on the right side of the road.

"The usual, Sakura-san?" The gruff-looking man asked.

"Yes, Mananche-san" Sakura and the flower man exchanged money and black roses.

"Arigatou."

Before the man could respond, Sakura had vanished from his sight.

She re-appeared near the village gates, Naruto was already there.

They looked at each other and immediately hugged tightly. (don't worry not a NaruSaku, just friendship) Sakura finally let out all of her bottled up emotion. Hot, sticky tears ran down her pale cheeks and her chest heaved.

This was where their, now dead, teammate had betrayed them.

Why weren't they at Sasuke's funeral?

He didn't have one.

"I don't g-get it N-naruto…" Sakura hiccupped. "N-not having a f-funeral is o-one thing, b-b-but not p-putting him on the KIA s-t-tone is another…"

Konoha had refused to honor Sasuke after he had defended them in the Sound's attack. He was planning to return to Konohagakure after killing Orochimaru, but Orochimaru decided to stage his attack early.

Sasuke immediately switched to Konoha's side and proposed to Sakura. She, of course, had agreed.

Sasuke did achieve his goal, killing Orochimaru, but it had cost his own life.

And Konoha refused to honor him for it.

"I didn't even get to fucking kiss him twice!" Sakura hissed.

The two best friends broke their hug.

"I know Sakura, I know," Naruto said, tears streaming down his handsome face.

What was left of Team 7 (Yes, Kakashi had died in the attack as well) talked for a while and eventually Naruto had to go back to his apartment.

Sakura stared at the bench for a long moment. "How could I let you slip away?"

The rain poured harder.

Tears slipped down her cheeks again and she set the obsidian colored roses onto the stone bench. Sakura fingered her red, diamond engagement ring.

"I miss you…"
