Little Snow: Hello, just as a little note, I was Little Mouse Crystal, but now I'm Little Snow! Well, all I can say is that Little Snow seems to suit me more at the moment. I've disappeared for about ouch two years or so? I kind of took a break from writing fanfiction… Well, anyway, if you seem any mistakes, YOU MUST TELL ME! Well, if you like the story, tell me why. If you absolutely hated it, tell me why as well. Currently it's a one-shot, might change it later! Lastly, I'm glad to say, it's good to be back!
The Vial
The murky halls of the hotel stiffened, as the exhausted flames from the candlelight smoldered. Inside room 44, a sickly pale hand reached out for a small vial. Slowly, it began twirling the glossy item, and the watery contents clashed. The woman's dark red lips curled backwards, and her harshly wrinkled and bloodshot eyes gleamed from insanity. Her eyes seemed to be in a trance as it observed the swirling liquid.
Carlotta threw her head back, as her whole body erupted with laughter. Her bobby pin collided with the marble floor. Dried auburn hair clamped onto her damp face. She continued to rock back and forth. Until a small tint of gray caught her eye.
Silence
Then more silence…
A wild scream broke out, as a hand snatched a pair of scissors and immediately snapped off the silver strands. The executed pieces of her brown locks gently descended…
Carlotta was enervated. Recently, her consciousnesses had been slipping in and out. She gazed at the vial in her left palm, and rubbed it against her cheeks, the smooth icy surface cooled her inflamed cheeks. Gradually, she brought the vial down on the wooden surface, and the lit mirrored became illusive...
A woman with auburn hair was singing a solo in the center of stage, the audience were completely captivated by her. Her melodic voice lifted higher and higher, until suddenly, it came out as a croak! The audience gasped, then, out of nowhere, a young girl with deep brown curls pushed the older woman aside. The people cheered as the spotlight abandoned the astonished woman in the shadow and shimmered upon the young brunette. Christine Daae.
Then, everything changed. The audience clamored her, and soon after, even the Prima Diva title became hers! No one noticed nor cared as the older woman withered away the backstage…
Carlotta's hands yanked wildly at her hair! She gave out an animalistic screech, and trashed around in her seat. Her chest rose and fell for short gasp of breath. Her dread for being replaced tormented her every night. Her dark circles added to her hollow cheekbones, and her gray hairs were driving her insane. She looked at the vial again, only to see the mirror of her image.
She lifted her small remedy and kissed it. Then, she gently placed it on the counter as she prepared to leave for the Opera House. She knotted her corset extra tighter. Her hands were trembling with determination and perhaps… a little fear?
Her over powdered faced crinkled slightly and she gave another smirk as she pursed the vial. "Just one little sip," she croaked hoarsely, "and Christine Daae will be no more! Those fools will be bowing and fawning all around me again!" her triumphful eyes shone brighter, "I shall slip this into her drink, and that innocent little chit wouldn't notice a thing! Even better! She'll suspect even less if I leave it for her as a gift from the Phantom."
The woman quickly exited the room, down to the lobby, and called for a coach. Her face was bright with hope, with delight, with happiness, with the sadistic pleasure of a murderer.
